Piers returns to the Chapel and seeks out one of the acolytes. He has a variety of requests and tasks to discuss.

"Good day brother! I am glad to have returned to the sanctity of Baudh's grace once again. If you could assist me with several matters, I would be most gracteful"

"Most importantly, I wish to make my tithe to the glory of Baudh"

"I would also wish to enquire about undertaking the Trials of Knighthood. I feel my part in the slaying of the evil wyrm Scatha has made me ready for this"

"Talking of that expedition, I would like to purchase Norp the mule, as was our agreement before I set out".

"And in advance of my next journey, I would like to purchase 5 Healing Potions and 4 Flasks of Holy Water"

Piers hands over 700gp, 2 items of jewelry worth 500gp each and a 500gp emerald to cover the tithe, the mule, the potions and the holy water.

Finally, he seeks out Rowine and Crowager to thank them for their service. "It was an honor to have you as my comrades. I'm sure that with your rewards you may be thinking of retiring, and I would not blame you. But I hope you will consider traveling with me again one day".

Piers purchases five healing potions (250gp) and four flasks of holy water (100gp). He presents 2,200gp in coin, gems, and jewelry, making a tithe of 1,850gp. (1,850xp awarded)

"You may keep Norp the mule in honor of your leal service," the prelate genuflects.

"Slaying a dragon is a greater deed than most knights achieve in their lifetime; Baudh has certainly guided you with wisdom. You may perform your absolutions as soon as the ArchDuke accepts your vow."
(You had mentioned potentially taking residence at the White Tower. Knighthood requires vows to religious AND secular authority. Vowing to Baudh is not a problem in either case, but you must choose if you swear fealty to the ArchDuke of Gaul (southern secular authority) or to the Knights of Baudhil (northern theocratic authority).)

Piers approaches Rowine and Crowgar and thanks them for their service. Both are insurmountably wealthy from the dragon's hoard and indeed do consider settling down.
End of Session Morale (6): Rowine [2d6] = 11 Crowgar [2d6] = 3

Rowine squints at him dubiously. "I'll be gettin' my own place, thanks much." Her suspicious nature and crass demeanor make it clear she isn't interested in further adventuring with Piers. Crowgar makes amends for his sister. "You're an honorable man, Piers Garrett. I am glad we've served you well. Due to the success you've helped us achieve we likely shall have little need to take such risks again. But if occasion should arise that you need strength in the service of Baudh for some dire need, I will hear your call."

Before leaving town with Halfpint, Piers donates his Scale-mail and shield that he wore during the Slaying of Scatha, to the Chapel. "I thought you might like to put these on display," says the young cleric, the fame having gone to his head somewhat.

After leaving the Wooden Keep, Sir Piers goes to the Chapel of Baudh. He aims to find either Gvene or Zyneste to help accomplish several things.

"The Duke has tasked me to lead an expedition to seek out the orc tribes in the north," he explains. "The Duke will provide an escort of cavalry for us, and we intend to take a wagon with us for supplies."

"I would like to request the Arch-Bishop's blessing for myself, the cavalry troopers and any others in the expedition who would care to receive it. Also, wagons are rather unreliable for cross country travel. I would ask for a blessing over it too."

"Finally, I am looking for an acolyte called Florin. I have heard he can be found here and may be interested in adventuring. Can you direct me to him?"

Of course, Father Piers., she replies. For all in your party, the customary donation of gold would be 750 gold pieces. I am afraid Baudh offers no blessings for wagons, however... Such a device couldn't possibly exemplify Baudh's virtues.

Florin comes when summoned. He is more bookish than you expected, given the tales.
"How can I help you?

"Nice to meet you Florin", says Piers introducing himself. "I am Sir Piers Garret. You may have heard of me." Piers decides not to go into the full details about killing Scatha and building the new abbey, since he has several other things to do today and there will be time for all that later.

"I have been commissioned by the Duke to travel north, explore the lands up there and try to establish friendly relations with the orc tribes up there. This will be a fairly large expedition, including a troop of the Duke's cavalry. As leader of the expedition, i will of course be far too busy to attend to the men's spiritual needs all the time. Thus I would like you to come along on our journey to serve as my assistant. You will of course be fairly remunerated for your service."

"What do you say? Interested?"

He considers thoughtfully. "Your good name precedes you. Yes, I will come, as these men do require ministration. I am a man of studious nature, yself, and will enjoy keeping the annals of a diplomatic mission." Florin agrees to meet you when it is time to depart.
Given you just patroned a new chapel, I will give you a -1 bonus, which makes the second roll a success.

Phew! Thanks! I knew the third roll was a definite failure. It's hard to track. I have the rules saved on my laptop. When I printed them out, some pages came out blank, so for some rules I have to boot up my laptop. Hard to get that motivated when you are already on your iPad! :D

Piers reconsiders his plans. "I think with Florin to assist me I shall be able to oversee the spiritual health of the men. Perhaps the blessing of the bishop will not be necessary after all".

"I should also consider their physical well-being too. We are heading into dangerous lands. The healing waters of Baudh would be of great benefit to us all."

Piers wants to purchase 12 Potions of Healing and 5 flasks of Holy Water.
One 750gp ruby deducted.

Golgarth

Bows in reverence to the church elders as he studies in awe the shields and swords held in memorial of heroic figures.

"My Lord Bishop. I would seek to honour the church and Baudh one day with my own shield."

He enquires as to the duties of the templars and where noble quests may be undertaken. Perhaps such a mission may be the service of Baudh or the Bishop himself needs a martial duty performed?

Desiring to prove himself worthy, he hopes he may establish his credence by adventuring with others before taking any vows. He pays his tithes in thankfulness of a safe journey to Gaul.

"we are pleased to have one so faithful," says the Acolyte. "prove your deeds and win the favor of Lord Earc, Lady Halfpint, or the ArchDuke himself - if they accept your sworn fealty, we can administer your vows. Lord Commander Bremen has his own chapel which administers vows, if you choose that route; it is still service to Baudh."

Markd during his time in Gaul also visits the chapel, hoping to regain confidence in his actions, despite the craziness and gray areas that have been his experiences of late.
He donates the blown glass ornaments from the latest trek, hoping they provide value to the church.

Markd kneels as he allows the holy water to take effect. After a moment, he mentions to the priest that his next journey is to help restore the Yoldessi City and especially the cathedral for Baudh. Hopefully, there will be plenty of volunteers to manage it once it is ready. Maybe, if Baudh willing, it happens before the cold of winter.

After two months at the chapel, during which time he helped build a small altar to Freydis and made himself as useful as possible, Clint Brockhammer presents himself to Keelan. The paladin seems troubled.

"I like being here, and helping people as I can, but I don't think I'm doing as much good as I could out in the world. Tell me, please—do you know where I am needed?"

I'm assuming the chapel didn't already have an altar to Freydis, and that Clint can build it for no additional cost over what he already donated. Basically, it's RP flavor.
