Belanus is the deity for Cisneros, fire and the sun and all that. Does he have any patron-suitable underlings? Would like to spellburn the hell out of patron bond during the downtime. :-)

Jedak, (unknown) Human (unknown)

Come on Jedak, CLERIC OF NERGAL! :-)

Iganis, Lord of the Flame. Just came up with the name. Details to be forthcoming.

Okay cool. Some thoughts, take 'em or leave 'em: it's not just explosions and conflagration, although that can be part of it, but he's closely associated with his deity's portfolio of (perhaps raucous) joy, partying, the happy-go-lucky fey nature of elves, etc. Light in the darkness, twinkling starlight, torches, watchfires, cooking and feasting and ... distilling liquor. ! Also, smoking, esp. of intoxicants or medicines. Cleansing, healing warmth and comfort. Maybe he's "Lord of the Hearth" instead of just flame?

In that case, let's drop the "Latin-lite" corruption of Agni, and go with Lihtan, the Light-Bearer, Star of the Morning. I can work with that.

I just might do that. On the one hand, his personality is 8 (-1), but on the only stat of his that isn't average or worse is stamina. As I type this, I've made up my mind. One cleric coming up.

Haha... so awesome. Of course you can quest to increase it. Nergal or whoever seems pretty interested to have a new pawn to act through so who knows. !

That leads to the question of whether or not Jedak's new ... friend ... can act as his deity? What are the deity options in this setting, specifically the neutral options? Neutral seems best, all things considered. If my options are basically those listed in the rules, I'm thinking Amun Tor would be a good option.

Jedak may be a Neutral cleric of Nergal if he so desires.

Perfect. One more question: how are you handling clerical spell selection?

Sorry to announce this: I'll be taking leave now that the Third expedition has ended. I was engaged at the beginning, but started to lose interest and forgot to visit the forums for periods of days. Please feel free to use Murq however you wish.

That's okay. Dumnbunny, you want to pick up playing Murq? His sheet's in the forum. I think it's helpful to have them posted here, you should post Jedak's too.

Also, as an interesting aside, I noticed Jedak was originally JeDDak...! Somewhere along the way, he lost a D. Can we just call him Jed? :-)

I like the PBP so as long as RC keeps it up, I'm game. Things will probably be easier if we've just got 2 players anyhow... but whatever happened to the players from the First and Second expeditions? They had some chars level up, I think...

Roll 4 spells randomly. If we both agree that any result seriously makes no sense, reroll that result.

Can do. Will do. And yeah, I like the sound of Jed.

Sounds good. I'll take care of that shortly.

I think Murq hit level 1 as well... pretty sure, anyway. I included him in the division of the gold coins, so he's got some cash to spend on gear, too.

Given his stats, maybe a two-handed battleaxe is the best option for him. Or a poleaxe or something.

Bitflipr had him at 8 XP. I went through the thread again and confirmed that number.

Yeah, I'm kind of torn between that and going sword-and-board (well, warhammer-and-board). I'll make a decision after RC responds to my Murq post in the 4th expedition thread.

Hmm. So Murq is 2xp short based on the fact that he was frantically chipping away at the wall while we were smashing the crazy blue-gem skeleton. Can we get a Judge clarification on whether Murq "participated" in the fight enough to get xp or not?

Boo!

I guess it's not a big deal, he can just level up at the next encounter (assuming he survives). Dunno if that influences your decision as to gear, Dumnbunny. Murq's not horrible, once he hits 1 he'll have enough survivability, and with that Str, he's going to do some great damage in melee.

Hi all,

Raven invited me over from the Goodman Games forum to supply some new 0-level fodder adventuring companions. Crow, how do you want me to roll up the characters? Okay to use the Purple Sorcerer program (http://purplesorcerer.com/create.htm), or do you want me to use the dice roller here and show my work? I'll start a new thread to post them like everyone else has. What's the best way to introduce them into the action?

I look forward to getting to know everyone!
