It takes several minutes each, but eventually, everyone is able to safely descend to the next lower level. Now with the benefit of torchlight, Ciar and the rest of the group find themselves in an empty, naturally carved out chamber with exits leading north in either of the northern corners. There are no sounds heard coming from either passage.

Ciar shakes his head at the dwarf's query.
"Nyah. Just made sure there wasn't nothing waiting for us. I'll check the northwest passage first. We're too far down for me to do much wandering off on my own anymore." he adds with a wink.
Ciar heads off down the northwest passage, using his dark vision to navigate.

"Just made sure there wasn't nothing waiting for us.. but I'll check the northwest passage first." he adds, beginning that trek down the cramped corridor without a torch, relying upon his dark vision to navigate the way. Grim moves to the base of the northeast passage and, using his own infravision, takes a peek.
Back in the cavern, Fulp begins to take note of the possible exits, which appear to be limited to the two passages leading out of the chamber, currently being explored by Ciar and Grim, and the ladder back up.
