Chp. 3: La Muerta Espara
Re: Chp. 3: La Muerta Espara
Calto the druid:
"Yes, let us make haste while your gifts remain," Calto agrees with Azoth. He then quickly glances at his companion, Siavel, knowing that revisiting the room will most certainly conjure black memories of the loss of his familiar, Surge.

Siavel also nods in agreement to the priests suggestions.
He continues to look longingly at his new dagger as he follows along in the order.

Calto the druid:
Making their way back to the "Eye Room", Calto takes a moment to speak with Siavel, "Friend, how do you fare? I know this room that we are about to re-enter holds...certain feelings. Be strong. Remember your friend has now returned to The Mother."
He continues by trying to make sure his friend has not developed an unhealthy preoccupation with the dagger, "What specialties do you feel the dagger holds?"

Kitchi- takes the rear of the party. Are we sure sure that chamber is empty?

Tabai shrugs "Is any place in this tomb of gods truly ever empty?"

Re: Chp. 3: La Muerta Espara
Siavel answers the druids inquiries.
Thank you again, my friend.
So far it has shown me that it can detect magic items and certain peoples moral fortitude. I think it has more powers yet to reveal. I don't know why, but somehow this thing speaks to me.
The elf continues to study the intricacies of the blades craftsmanship.
I think that, like us, it just wants to be gone from this place.

The chamber is eireely silent. The adventurers footfalls echo about.
The skull is toppled. The area all around it is in ruins from the gigantic tentacled eye thing that burst through in pursuit of the blind Siavel. In the northeast corner is the corridor stairwell leading out.
Re: Chp. 3: La Muerta Espara
Azoth Al-Aziz, occultic priest:
If the eye tentacles are gone, the dark cleric quietly cautiously makes his way to the stairway, scanning with eyes ablaze with blood.

The stalks are gone, much of the floor in ruins. Azoth sees no traps and the group walks along the east wall to the corner. The stairs lead down. Azoth looks about and sees with his divine vision a glow of seams above in the ceiling, and about 15 feet down the stairs a pressure plate.

The dark cleric warns the others of the diabolical trap. "If we avoid that step, we might be safe," he utters.

"Perhaps we could roll the demonic, stone skull down the hallway to trigger the trap?," Calto raises a questioning eyebrow to the others.

Alex 'Blade Rain' Vam; human Fighter
Blade Rain looks over at Calto and answers with a shrug; "I'm not sure if triggering it will help us, hurt us, or neither. Personally, I'd just as soon try avoiding it, but I'll go along with what you smarter, wiser fellas suggest".
With that, the fighter will keep his enchanted Broadsword and Dagger in hands, ready for use if needed and try to keep alert for any unexpected foes....

Kitchi- Stays clear of the trap. I have never heard of any trap having any good results. I will wait back here to by the door. My eyesight just returned, I am afraid if I lose it a second time it may be lost forever. Kitchi stays to the rear of the group Tomahawk at the ready.

Re: Chp. 3: La Muerta Espara
The shrine raiders consider activating the trap with the giant skull. It lies fractured among the ruins of the floor where the great eye tentacled beast erupted. It would take some time for multiple men to negotiate part of the skull out and down the stairs.

Siavel gives the gifted cleric a suggestion.
Outline the traps trigger in chalk so those of us who can't see it know where it is.
The elf tries to determine if the trigger can be bypassed simply by jumping over it.

Re: Chp. 3: La Muerta Espara
As the adventurers are not enthusiastic about triggering the trap with part of the giant skull, the trigger stair is marked. One by one each man steps over it and proceeds another 60' to a pair of double doors. Azoth's warding vision of danger detection sees no traps at these doors.
Re: Chp. 3: La Muerta Espara
Calto the druid:
Calto cautiously approaches the double doors and presses his ear to them them, trying to listen for anything of interest.
