OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
BTW, here are a couple of pictures to give you an idea of what surrounds the walls of Ravenloft: a whole bunch of down.
(I don't think I'm giving anything away with that map; you've seen almost all of that, or been in a position to see it.)Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
Thanks, Zhym. Does our strong man need to be polymorphed, or is the potion of giant strength enough for rope-lowering?
GW and Dram, how about we lower the bears to ground level as described? Some of us climb down the ladder to the bottom to untie the first bear, and to find the controls for the drawbridge. GW, are you happy for Gragog to drink the potion?
This plan will require us to split up. Whereas abandoning the bears doesn't endanger any party member. We can fly away right now. I'm happy with either, but wanted to point out the risks.
Note to self: no more bears!

The strong man doesn't need to be polymorphed to lower the bears on a rope or lift them.

Inferno better note would be no more Druids with pets.

Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
The bears probably weren't a great choice for this module. I brought them in when I brought in Shinyah because I thought you all needed some more firepower. But they're more hindrance than help in a dungeon or castle environment, where the bears probably can't get to the battle lines anyway. And this trip to the castle hasn't seen many combats anyway.
Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
Question is will the bears let you harness them and then drop them over a cliff? Without the help of there master is it possible?

Agax will cast Sleep on them.
GW, are you happy for Gragog to drink the potion? Maybe Bragar or someone stays with him?
Agax and the rest will climb down to untie the first bear and find drawbridge controls.
Given the precipice, looks like we are descending bears on the inside of the wall.

A note on the Sleep plan: brown bears have 5+5 HD. Sleep only affects creatures of up to 4+4 HD.
Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
Ugh.
What do the Potions from Madame Eva do?
The floor with the trap door in the tower, is it made of wood? Maybe we can make the hole bigger to carry the bears down the ladder, if they fear being bound by ropes.
I have a Forget spell, which could calm them if things get crazy.

Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
It may just be me, but carrying a bear down a ladder seems a much more difficult task than getting a rope around a bear.
The potions are supposed to protect against level drain.

Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
As cruel as it may sound I honestly think we just need to abandon them, or just get them to the ground level is possible then let them off on their own. If we have to rope them up and lower them so be it lets just give something a try here so we can move forward, what say you Inferno & Dram?

I agree also secure the ropes around them if possible and lower them. And the set them free once we are beyond the bridge.

Dram and GW,
Hop onboard the pegasus that Agax just polymorphed into, and let's get out of here!

Hi Zhym.
Is it near dawn?
Are the figures carrying torches?
Thanks.

mad villagers that or all the castle zombies and monsters fled since their master is gone is my other thought...

Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
It is the middle of the night and the figures do not appear to be carrying torches.
Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
That's not great.
If we were to turn around, how far would we have to go until we reach a hiding spot, or at least not be on a narrow path on a cliff face? Thanks.

Re: OOC Discussion III: Bride of OOC
It's about half an hour back to the top of the cliff.
