Bingus allows Dorin to enter if he will; the mage will keep an eye on their rear, knowing that only one door is held. If Rummus and Dorin need help, he may enter the small area nexst round.

For the northern group: (Rummus, Dorin, Bingus)
"Need help..." Rummus calls out as he quickly places down the lantern he's carrying and moves to the right, deeper into the cavern of stench, and fires off a well-placed shot at the approaching creature, which can now be positively identified as being a wolverine. "Why'd yah go 'n do a fool thin' like that, eh Rummus?" Dorin says from the safety of the opening. Bingus keeps an eye on their rear, knowing that only one door is held.

The wolverine viciously rakes at Rummus with its pair of razor-sharp claws, catching the elf once and illiciting a pained yelp. The creature snaps at open air as the injured elf deftly shifts out of the way of its powerful jaws.

For the southern group: (Luthon, Malfindel, Xhalh, Relve)
At the sound of the approaching adversary, Relve retreats a step and produces his warhammer while Malfindel and Lúthon hold their ground and ready their bows. "Um. Pray, return yonder light, good fellows." Xhahl calls out to the group to the north. "It's my lantern, but guess we gotta all go back and --" Relve begins to say, but his words are interrupted by the scraping sound of two spears, hurled in his direction, which fell short of their marks and skid to a stop at his feet.

The illumination of a flickering torch brings the adversaries into view -- three men, two adorned in plate mail and one absent any armored protections. The armored pair are observed producing swords from the bejeweled scabbards hanging at their sides, while the trailing man carries a lantern and leans on a tall, wooden staff.

For the northern group: (Rummus, Dorin, Bingus)
Rummus begins preparations to cast a spell, but the wolverine quickly overcomes him, raking him successfully with both sets of razor-sharp claws, knocking the elf over. The ferocious beast pounces on top of its fallen victim and its jaws sink into the leather armor of their fallen comrade. Dorin hurries through the tight crevice and slams his axe down on the unsuspecting beast, drawing blood... and definitely catching its attention!

Bingus, still outside, continues to watch the west door. "Careful, guys" he whispers.

For the northern group: (Rummus, Dorin, Bingus)
"Rummus is down," Bingus hears Dorin start to relay... then the call turns to a pained groan as the mage witnesses the dwarf get slashed and bitten before collapsing into a silent, bleeding, and unmoving mound of flesh for the wolverine to feast on later.

Still just starting to squeeze through the crevice, Bingus is faced with a decision -- continue into the cavern to tend to his fallen companions, or retreat?

Believing that the monster is too great a threat for him, Bingus leaves Rummus and Dorin to be consumed by the wolverine and quickly hurries to rejoin the other group to the south... only to discover one of armed denizens of this underground death trap standing over the corpses of his companions, wiping blood from the edge of his blade. His remaining companions -- Luthon, Malfindel, Xhalh, and Relve -- all have their throats slit and appear to have died mercifully. He somehow is able to process that there is a second armed guard standing behind the first, and a third, unarmored male, wearing flowing red robes, carrying a lantern and leaning on a tall, wooden staff behind them both.

Bingus' unknowing approach of the slaughter attracts the attention of this first guard, whom turns to face the approaching wizard. Bingus can almost feel the executioner's steely eyes piercing him as he catches a glimpse of them peering through the steel helm. Then he hears a deep, monotone voice calmly speaks the following words: "You're next."

I would normally call for 'actions' at this point... but....
