Sorry for the delays in posting, everyone! As Rex pointed out, I've been preoccupied.

Sorry to see you go Rusty, but I totally understand the need to cut back on juggling. Good luck with your game!

Rossik, I'll double check with the site admins to make sure you are added to the private group. My suggestion is for everyone to divvy up the army points evenly between players, so that you don't have to worry about coming to a consensus before finalizing your troops. Once you're in we can discuss building your characters army in there.

Alright rossik, I've made sure that you definitely have access to the private forum.

Make sure you are logged in, otherwise it will be invisible. You should find it at the top of the page, in the area circled in red here:

Yikes, babies are lots of work! I've graciously been given this weekend off from obligations, so I'll jump back into the army forums and get things rolling.

Ah, so he did. Right, I'll sort my half shortly, you do your half, then we'll see if there are any glaring weaknesses like.... my half.

Hi guys.

Sorry for the huge stall on things from me. Taking care of the little squirt is taking up all of my time, so I've had to drop out of pretty much all of my online gaming.

I'd like to try keeping this game running though. I really only have time on Monday mornings to game though, so is everyone okay with that? It will mean the game moves slowly, but then again this "adventure" will probably last fewer turns than most RPG games, so maybe it will balance out.

Are we all still in? Any questions or clarifications I haven't answered yet?

Cool. I'm finalizing the army lists and we'll get started.

Silvermane has logged in since the start of the month, but I've PMed him in the hopes it'll go to his email. If he's not in anymore, would you be willing to play the rebels yourself, lordfalco?

Answered.

We're about to start, so we should think about the best way to run the actual map movements.

The easiest for me would be to have the map up on Roll20 and invite you all to the game. I'll have my umpire map, which I update with movements and everything else. Each player will have a separate map, where you can move your armies around, but enemies and allies are only added if you spot them or otherwise know where they are.

The other way is to use the private boards here for everything. It keeps it all in one place, but it's a lot more work for me because I have to cut and paste map files for each player, then upload each change as a picture.

Thoughts or other alternatives?

Whatever is easier for you. I am on Roll20, the games never last so I haven't played in any in a long time.

Roll20 is pretty simple to use as a player. We'd still be running the game here, and really only using Roll20 to have a persistent game board where everyone can keep track of their armies on the campaign map. You can log in and view your map at any time, make notes to yourself if you like, that sort of thing.

You would, however, have to create a Roll20 account (free), and then I have to invite you to the game.

I've been lucky. I ran a weekly B/X game for about 2 and a half years on Roll20, but we've been on a hiatus since January because of the baby. It's an open table style sandbox game using the "Sample Settings & Environs of the D&D Wilderness" from the B/X Expert Set. I've also been able to play in a few one shot modules to completion, all run by the same guy.

Oddly enough, I've had the hardest time with people who recruit and play exclusively through Roll20. The only games I've joined that lasted were the ones where the players were recruited through friends or on old school forums. We primarily play on Google Hangouts or Discord, and only fire up Roll20 when we need to draw pictures or move tokens around. It seems like games that rely on Roll20 just have a hard time getting off the ground.
