Grillock- He looks confused. Why would anyone want to purchase a love potions? Is there a shortage of suitable women in this town? Come master, maybe that is all she knows how to make. He says it loud enough for the old lady to hear. He gives Odilo a grin.

Well, you'd be wrong then pointy ears!
I can make may elixirs for the traveler or adventurer.
My poison antidotes are to die for, I mean, they are highly sought after.

I can sell you anything you need. Love potions are merely my specialty, as I already mentioned.

Grillock- Well Mam now we are getting somewhere. What other potions do you have fer sale? My master is a honest man. May we speak to you face to face? It would be much better for my master to see who we are dealing with Mam. Grillock Shrugs his shoulders to Odilo and whispers Should we proceed with this or move on?

NO! You may NOT come in!

But, I will come outside and deal with you in person if I must.

She doesn't come out and continues cackling from behind the door.

I can make you a poison antidote that's guaranteed to work.
I could make you an elixir that works great for removing warts and diseases.

Her voice lowers to barely a whisper.
I can even make stuff that will make you feel good...... REAL good.

Odilo "What about an elixir that makes uptight people relax? Oh wait the local taverns carry that already. Remove warts ha. How about something challenging like something that makes a person younger?" the mage adds.

Oh I see, that is what you seek?

I can prepare for you a potion that will reverse the effects of aging by up to a decade. You don't want to drink too many of those though. Its bad for yer health!
The old crone cackles a little to herself.

That one is only 50 gold up front and I could have it ready for you in a day er two, depending if I can find the right ingredients of course.

Odilo "More or less yes but what I really would like to find is a mages guild or the tower of a mage that used to reside here." he pauses "However I am willing to pay you for a potion of that type would you be willing to take 35 gold for it instead of fifty?"

Leave forty gold on the stoop and I will have your potion ready in a day or two.

The dead mages ruined tower is north of here. Follow the road for about 5 miles and you will find it in a small forest, just off the road. There is no guild that I know of. Why would there be? We ain't got no wizards around here.

I thought elves were supposed to have GOOD hearing!

NO healing potions!

I'm done dispersing information for free.

If you don't want to buy anything and you are just here to harass an old woman, then piss off!

Odilo "I wouldn't say there aren't any. But you used to have one. Too bad you didn't have more of a better nature. Thank you and here is the fourty gold." the mage sets the 40gp on the stoop as asked. "Pardon my friend here he is a bit precarious. I thank you for the information maam. I'll be back in a day or two to get the potion."

Crazy Alchemist Lady

After Odilo leaves the forty gold, the old crone cackles with glee.

Yes, yes, very good indeed! I will get right on that my dirty old friend. I will start mixing the ingredients now and you will have it in a day or two. Sound good?

She then addresses the elf again.

I don't think there is anyone that lives out in Mad Mortimer's old ruins, but I haven't been out that way in quite some time. Do be careful though, I hear that its haunted!!! Haha!

Come on back tomorrow, if yer still alive, and perhaps I will have your potion done. Just don't come knocking before noontime. I need my beauty sleep you know!!! Hahahaha!

Odilo "Yes yes that'll be fine. I'll be back." then he heads off with Grillock in the direction the crone mentioned to get to the tower. "Aye dealing with her was an experience I hope not to repeat."

The duo take their leave of the hag-in-the-hut and head off to the north. They pass three homes that are obviously occupied by the towns fishermen. There is fishing gear of all sorts laying out everywhere and the smell of dead rotting fish is intensely nauseating.

The road continues north for a ways past the last houses and then becomes a lot more like a rough trail. You can tell that the way to the ruined tower does not get used much.

Will you two be continuing on to the tower? If so, I will start a new thread for that.

Grillock- That old bat was no help. She probably has n't been out of that house for years. Did we want go to the tower or find a tavern? It may be best if wait till morning. He takes a piece of cheese that had gotten earlier. Breaks it in half and offers a piece to Odilo.

Odilo stops "Eh the way is quite obviously unused I say at least we know roughly where the tower is. We can go gather information from the closest tavern. We can tell the others where the tower is supposed to be though as you said the crone obviously never gets out. For now lets go find a tavern the smell of rotting fish is stronger than I care to stand." the mage takes the piece of cheese. "Thanks for the cheese." then the mage turns around and heads towards The Weary Traveler Inn and Tavern.

Next Morning

The two friends head back over to the alchemist shop after their breakfast.

The shop is completely dark again. As you move in closer, you can see that the front door is just slightly ajar.

Odilo hears no reply come from inside the still slightly opened door.
