Dungeon Master:

Kormak's hit on the Hobgoblin sends it railing to the floor with a total of 7 Hit points damage having been done to it (Hit previously with arrow from )

So as far as Kormak can tell the passage he is facing is currently now cleared.

Wolfram's Hit with his newly acquired Magical Mace+1 does: [1d6+2] = 3+2 = 5
Hit Points of Damage on the Hobgoblin dropping him! Damage for the magical mace+1 is: 1d6+2 S/M 1d6+1 L

This is one remaining fighting Hobgoblin Guard here & mort hit him with a bolt for 3 Hit Points, while Maya Swung & missed!

New Round of combat Here now:

Initiative:
Party: [1d6] = 6
Hobgoblin: [1d6] = 3

Hobgoblin gets an attack first:

Last Hobgoblin Guard at enterance: Attacking Maya: [1d20] = 15 : This is a Miss!

Adventurers state your actions!

Mort reloads the crossbow for another shot. Crossbow, Light Hit[1d20 +3] = 15+3 = 18 Dmg[1d4] = 2

Kormak wipes the hobgoblin blood and other body matter off his sword onto the dead hobgoblins clothing.

Luna, frothing at the mouth with the excitement of revenge after being held captive here, shouts at the hobgoblin: "Accept the hatred of Eeknow's children!" and spins off another dart: Dart, to hit: [1d20] = 9, damage vs S/M/L opp: [1d3] = 1

Lutha, impressed with Luna's frenzy: "Aha, an old dog gathers no moss I see!", and not wanting to miss any of the action, twangs his sling: Sling to hit: [1d20+1] = 18+1 = 19, damage with bullet vs S/M opp: [1d4+2] = 3+2 = 5 / damage with bullet vs L opp: [1d6+2] = 4+2 = 6 once more at the same hobgoblin.

while Wolfram scaredly ducks in the cross fire from his batty uncles

Dungeon Master:

Luna & Lutha fire off a dart & sling bullet after the Hobgoblins are down, with Lutha's bullet striking the Hobgoblin, Mort had just struck down!

It appears the party has now once again cleared the entrance to the Goblin/Hobgoblin lair.

What's next folks?!

I know you'll be heading down the east passage, so I think what i'll do is make wandering monster checks until you reach the intersection that leads south to the Torture Chamber.

Mort does his usual looting of the dead bodies.

Kormak sets to his usual task of beheading the fallen foes kicking the heads out of the cave like a soccer ball.

Dungeon Master:

On the 8 bodies you find pouches of:

4 Goblins: [1d4x10] = 3x10 = 30, [1d4x10] = 2x10 = 20, [1d4x10] = 1x10 = 10, [1d4x10] = 1x10 = 10 Copper Coins

[1d4] = 2, [1d4] = 4, [1d4] = 2, [1d4] = 3 Silver Coins

4 Hobgoblins: [1d4] = 3, [1d4] = 4, [1d4] = 4, [1d4] = 4 Gold Coins

Wandering Monster Checks to your destination (3): No Encounters!

So we are back to the last intersection from the first trip then? If so lets check the passage going North.

I don't understand the correlation between maps "Goblin_Hobgoblin_Cave_D_03.jpg" and "Goblin_Hobgoblin_Cave_D_04.jpg".

Uhmm, well, "Goblin_Hobgoblin_Cave_D_03.jpg" was simply the entrance area where, this time both goblin & hobgoblin guards were watching.

"Goblin_Hobgoblin_Cave_D_04.jpg", is the very same cave only farther in, following the only route the adventurers could have taken to reach an intersection.

I did a wondering monster check for every 120 feet the party travelled to get to that intersection.

It is here that you know that going south at the intersection takes you back into the Torture Chamber.

The North passage is the unexplored one now.

Jareth Sands

Jareth having over stepped his limits. Decided to hang at the back of the pack. He was angry with himself for getting over zealous and charging forward to impress his new group. He will not make the same mistake again.

Borum

Content as a party healer and support cleric, hangs back and try's to council his old friend Jareth.

" It could've been worse Jareth. You could have caught a bolt in the throat an been bleeding out in the corridor were I couldn't reach you in time"

Jareth Sands

"Thank you Borum. You always know just what to say to make me feel better."

The sarcasm in Jareth's voice was so thick the others could cut it with a knife.

Dungeon Master:

Mort & Kormak note the passage turns left (west) after the 10 feet seen on the map.

Do they continue on without a pause ?

Mort stops and checks for traps floors, and walls with help from Kormack to check the ceiling.
Trap Check Floor[1d100] = 39 Trap Check Left Wall[1d100] = 90 Trap Check Ceiling [1d100] = 32 Trap Check Right Wall[1d100] = 73

Kormak helps helf Mort up to reach the ceiling in effort to check for traps. After the trap check the half-orc peeks around the bend to the west to see if he can spy anything awaiting them.

Although Lutha and Luna are not proactively helping in door searches, being half-elves, their ability of:

Spotting concealed door without actively searching 1 in 6: [1d6] = 5

Spotting concealed door without actively searching 1 in 6: [1d6] = 6

is constantly in 'on' mode whereever they may be - in this case on the heels of Mort and Kormak.

Wolfram moves alongside them, stroking Tenebaum's.....mace.

Dungeon Master:

Kormak's ability to act as a pin cushion continues as a Javelin come flying at his head when he takes a peek:

Javelin: [1d20] = 13 : This is a Hit for [1d6] = 1 Hit Point of damage to his skull !

Kormak did note that the javelin came from behind a couple shambly looking figures in front !

"Dead men are better than one!" Luna shouts in hobgoblin while launching yet another misguided missile Dart, to hit: [1d20] = 7, damage vs S/M/L opp: [1d3] = 2 at the newly-spotted foes.

Lutha, startled by the boldness of a man who ought to be showing at least some signs of PTD after being held captive, joins in and aims his sling towards the mid portion of the nearest shambling entity, somehow having a hunch its brain might be located there: Sling to hit: [1d20+1] = 15+1 = 16, damage with bullet vs S/M opp: [1d4+2] = 3+2 = 5 / damage with bullet vs L opp: [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7.
Mentally, he is also preparing for some possible spell casting...very soon.

Wolfram remains alert with his mace.

Dungeon Master:

As, Kormak swears over getting scraped in the noggin & the javelin clanks to the ground.

Lutha Cee boldly runs up into view of the west passage, & throws his dart as another Javelin is hurled at Lutha which whizzes by him ! [1d20] = 6

Lutha's Sling Stone scores a Hit on one of the shambling figures!

To Luna's shocking surprise not just of missing his target but also realizing, it is his friend Gus Niminus (5 HP Damage) the Thief from his adventure party, while the 2nd figure is Trindon The Monk !

Question: It's Luna who throws darts, but rolling a 7, he surely missed ?

Did you perhaps mean it was Lutha who scored a hit with his sling ? (I don't want Luna to be lynched if he's innocent :D )

Edit: after posting the above, DM corrected the text, so pls ignore
