Dungeon Master:

Ok, it would be the morning of December 15th when the party sets off northward for Galversharns lair with 8 more days to spare.

I say morning because when looking back you have been up since 6 am & it is likely around 11pm by the time the fights in the Lair were done with.

I will use the 15 miles a day so it will take 4 days to travel to Galversharn.

3 Wandering monster checks per 12 mile hex at 6 1/2 hexes travel = 21 checks = 78 miles

Hex #1: [1d6] = 6, [1d6] = 5, [1d6] = 5 : No encounters
Hex #2: [1d6] = 2, [1d6] = 6, [1d6] = 1 : 1 Encounter (Mile 20): [1d20] = 17 : Eagle flying over head ! (Does not Attack)
Hex #3: [1d6] = 6, [1d6] = 2, [1d6] = 3 : No encounters
Hex #4: [1d6] = 5, [1d6] = 6, [1d6] = 6 : No encounters
Hex #5: [1d6] = 2, [1d6] = 1, [1d6] = 1 : 2 encounters Mile 58 & 60): [1d20] = 15: Weasels (no attack) & [1d20] = 18 : Geese (no attack)
Hex #6: [1d6] = 2, [1d6] = 6, [1d6] = 6 : No encounters:
Hex #7: [1d6] = 4, [1d6] = 1 : 1 Encounter (mile 73 of 78 : [1d20] = 20
: Wild Turkeys (Does not Attack)

it's the morning of December 19th when then party reaches the base of the mountain that is Galversharn's Lair !

Um, are they not supposed to attack, or are we in luck?
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, ’n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, ’n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

Cayley

Cayley will cast healing on anyone injured, so everyone should be at full hit points by the time we arrive.

Dungeon Master:

Procyon, since this is an Introductory level game module, Mischief Inc, chose not to use & include a wandering monster table.

That said, I went & made the one up you see in the House Rule Thread.

I made it so beginner players can see that random things can happen during their travels.

As you will note only 2 rolls, a 1 or 20 will generate an encounter that will attack the party If it is nighttime!

In this case the 20 was rolled in Hex #7, however it's wild turkeys instead of Goblins, since it is daylight so you lucked out there.

The Inheritance Wandering Monsters/NPC’s table:

1] Kobold (at Night), Salamander (day)
2] Bear
3] Cougar
4] Merchant Caravan
5] Peregrine Falcon
6] Skunk
7] Wolf
8] Wild Boar
9] Brownie
10] Buffalo
11] Lynx
12] Gopher
13] Ram
14] Lone Traveller
15] Weasel
16] Wild Horse
17] Eagle
18] Geese
19] Rabbit
20] Goblin (at Night), Wild Turkeys (Day)

Also, yes the party is Fully Healed by the time they reach the base of the mountain that is Galversharn's home !

Cayley

Cayley completes her morning prayers and stares up the mountain, "Well, I guess the kobolds found a way up to her lair, though I doubt we'll find a yellow brick road to guide us."

The priestess turns to Teladrin, "So my good ranger, think you can find us a pathway? Obviously the kobolds went up and back down again so do you think they might have left some tracks?"

Tuireann:

"Why try to find a way up when we can have her come to us." Tuireann cups his hand around his mouth to amplify his voice "Lady Galversharn, we have returned with your off spring."

Dungeon Master:

Tuireann's Voice echos a bit here & there but seems sort of weak in the vastness of the mountain side !

Arn moans, 'Perhaps if we had followed Jenks' advice and rummaged through the kobold lair, we might have found a small pile of jewels to lure the dragon down the mountain!'

'Well, guides,' he says, turning to Mugg and Idhrenwen, 'is there a path we can take to reach her lair?'

Dungeon Master:

Just as the party was about to go up a meandering rocky path, a huge Bronze Dragon is seen coming out of a cave entrance & spots the party.

Galversharn makes her way down to the base of the mountain by taking flight, circling for a bit, then glides downward to land by the party.

Looking each of you over the great dragon says,

" Ah yes, I recognize you to be the party that was to look for my Egg, I see you have found Idhrenwen & that Mugg is with you, have you found the Egg? "

The Doctor will have re-memorized his Sleep spell once they were able to rest.

He says, "It looks like Galversharn already knows we are here."

He looks around to see if anything else is around them out of habit.

Dungeon Master:

Opps! The Kobold Lair is in the old Dwarven Temple that Mugg Grimhammer's Uncle Hetulegur, built Long ago near the base edge of Mt. Dantorc !

The Orc's actually overtook it first, but was defeated & driven out by your friend, the wizard Gildas Trahern, years ago.

Marmor Quarry is where the Rothad Zemet (Rotting Eye) Goblin Tribe now reside, under Chief Fonok.

Dungeon Master:

Galvernsharn takes the Egg & examines it as if deep in thought, & sniffs it, then you a big smile cross her face as she hugs it closer & says,

" It is the Egg & it is fine ! I thank you all & am grateful for your recovering of the Egg ! "

In that case, Arn runs away before the dragon can try to get tender with him. :)

Arn bows deeply to the (hopefully) pacified dragon. 'It was our pleasure, Lady of Dragons. Our only request is that you set aside your wrath against our party, and the people of Caer Brennau, who were innocent.

'As our brother has said, the kobolds below Mt. Dantorc were in possession of the egg, though I do not know if they stole it themselves or had someone else act for them. We managed to reach them just in time to stop a grim blood ritual from taking place. Do you know why the kobolds would have needed your egg for their ritual sacrifice?'

Dungeon Master:

Galversharn says,

" I know not the true intent of the Kobold's need for my egg, I know they worship an evil goddess called Kalmak, or Livora as the humans would call her. "

" So, it appears it was to be sacrificed in return for some favor. "

" It is sad to hear what has become of the great Paladin Hetulegur Grimhammer's handiwork to the Dwarven gods. "

Galversharn bows reverently at the party, thanks them once again & takes flight back to her lair in the Eire Mountains.

Cayley

The priestess goes to one knee and bows her head in prayer, "Giver of fire your humble servant thanks you for your assistance in sparing the people of Caer Brennau."

Cayley smiles and rises, "Well done team. It seems City of Caer Brennau is safe from being destroyed. Of course, they do not know that. Do we let them sweat over it or return on tell them of their reprieve?"
