"Agreed, but I keep three arrows just in case you try anything funny. Lower your weapons, and I'll leave the ring and arrows here for you. Wait until I'm well gone before picking them up. You still want the gems and ointment, I assume?"

If the orcs do as asked, Lug does his part. He holds up the ring, muttering apologies to Orrin as he drops it on the ground. Then he removes all but two arrows from his quiver (leaving him three, including the one he holds with his bow), shows the gems and ointment, and drops them. When that's done, he'll back away carefully, still holding his bow at the ready, until he is out of longbow range to the ransom. Then he'll run toward the glade.

Well. Let's hope things don't break down at this stage!

The orcs seem agreeable to this course of action, and Lug deposits the agreed-upon items and makes his way out of the area.

Since the party is now shattered, with only one conscious member, I'm going to move all of the action to the private character threads and end this one.

XP will be awarded for actions taken for this expedition, though no loot has been recovered to bring back to civilization yet so there will be no xp awards for that.

I'm adjusting my sheet now to account for the ransom.

Needless to say, the arrow of beast slaying is one of the arrows Lug kept.

Negotiate with Xavro to gain the mighty bow Smurfgrill
Discover the orc outpost

Defeat ten orcs

Total: 1085xp, divided among 5 shares. Each survivor gains 217xp before adjustment.

Not bad for no treasure (yet), and if Lug returns to civilization solo he'll get all the loot xp for the bow to himself).
