NARRATOR

Ariknoq Teronqar, the Holy Fury enters the Gnome Vale arena for his first One-On-One battle. The Arena is the size of a football stadium with combatants entering through two double doors located at the rear of the immense cavern floor. Seating is twenty feet up on the cliff face surrounding the large cavern. Hundreds of Gnomes crowd the seats to see the next match. A magical floating Disc shaped flat platform hoovers over the arena with an odd looking Gnome dressed in what appears to be a tuxedo.

ARENA ANNOUNCER

"Today we have a fight from a newcomer to our fair city. Hailing from the far away city state of Pandathaway, let me introduce to you the one the only Ariknoq Teronqar, the Holy Fury!

A Large door opens at the far end of the arena wall adjacent to the combatant entrance an in walks a Blue Slaad.

" His opponent hails from the Outer Plane of Limbo, Let me introduce you to Vlad Turqwin, Eater of Souls! Let the fight begin!

Both Combatants are roughly about 240 feet away from each other it will take 2 rounds to advance into melee for Ariknoq and three rounds for Vlad Turqwin to reach Ariknoq on foot.

Vlad Turqwin's Initiative Roll: [1D6]=6

Ariknoq Needs to Roll His Initiative Roll to begin! Lets Fight!

With a prayer to his war god Qord, Ariknok steps into the arena. Seeing the distance, he clutches a pack of sticks in one hand to cast Sticks-to-Snakes.

Ariknoq Initiative [1d6] = 2

Ariknoq feels a numbness begin but holy fury swells within and he shakes off Slaad's sorcery. "Blood and souls for my lord Qord!" he yells, charging the creature with Excommunicator swinging.

Save vs. Hold [1d20] = 15 made it on 12, thank Qord

Per DMG, Charging gives automatic initiative to the charger and +2 to hit, though I do not get my Dex. bonus on AC.
Ariknoq Initiative [1d6] = 6 Snake initiative.

2/1 sword attacks (the charging +2 is not in the macro)
Excommunicator (Two-Handed Sword) THACO 14 - [1d20+6] = 13+6 = 19 S/M Damage [1d10+6] = 1+6 = 7, L Damage [3d6+6] = 7+6 = 13 Hit for 13 (I assume its Large size)

Excommunicator (Two-Handed Sword) THACO 14 - [1d20+6] = 11+6 = 17 S/M Damage [1d10+6] = 4+6 = 10, L Damage [3d6+6] = 12+6 = 18 Hit for 18.

Total sword damage 31

Snake attacks:

First 4 snakes. #1, 2 are poisonous. [1d20] = 16, [1d20] = 8, [1d20] = 13,[1d20] = 20 I assume snakes are 1 HD, but maybe 16 hit and it saves vs. poison. The spell is unclear if venemous is save or die or what type of poison. The 20 is a non-venemous critical.

Second 4 snakes. [1d20] = 18, [1d20] = 16, [1d20] = 6,[1d20] = 3 18 and 16 may hit for normal damage.

DM can roll for damage?

BLUE SLAAD

Blue Slaad viciously attacks the Half-Orc Fighter/Cleric now standing directly in front of him.

THACO 13 NEEDS 13'S TO HIT

ATK 1 CLAW [1D20]=19 / DAMAGE [2D6]=10
ATK 2 CLAW [1D20]=3 / MISS
ATK 3 CLAW [1D20]=18 / DAMAGE [2D6]=9
ATK 4 CLAW [1D20]=7 / MISS

ATK 5 BITE [1D20]=2 / MISS

BLUE SLAAD

Blue Slaad fails its save Vs. save or die venom and drops.

Ariknok must make a Dexterity check to the falling Slaad corpse or take 1d10 damage.

Ariknok gains 9,000 EXP for this battle plus is eligible for an Elite title fight against the Arena Champion whenever he so chooses.

Ariknoq drives his great sword hilt-deep into the slaad. It convulses and falls on top of him.

The half-orc grumbles as he climbs out from under the demonic beast. He raises his sword in the air in victory. "FOR QORD!" he yells.

- Dex. Check (15) [1d20] = 20. now I get a 20
- thanks for explaining initial initiative roll then simple alternating of attacks.
- that was fun, and the chat element was a nice complement to the posts

Thurgot

accepting Ariknoq's original invite on the presumption that it was going to be a team effort, then arrived at the Arena only as Ariknoq had already had started his solo fight. Afterwards: "Well slain, comrade! Did I not know otherwise, I would have assumed you to be a Norseman. Congratulations on symbolically attaining the 'Elite' status that we both knew you already possessed!"

Thurgot will neither go solo in the 'high' class, nor enter an 'elite' game, and so simply stays on as spectator to watch Ariknoq's next game.

Ulfang the Chainbreaker:

The massive barbarian went to the arena during his three day stay in the frivolous city of Gnomes. He found the idea of voluntary gladiators as tame sport. Mock combat was a pale shadow of real battle and all its indescribable joys. It was another affront in this city filled with them. The outlander had no need of validation from the likes of city gnomes.

Yet, here was a game where the odds were stacked in Ulfang's favor. He brooded on the chance for profit. Then he called to the man who ran the games: "You there! If I wager on myself, what odds does the house pay if I win?"

Ariknoq binds his wounds and looks about for healers.

"Gratitude for kind words," he says to Thurgot. "Qord guided my sword to victory. At one moment the creatures magic almost had me. My passion for combat moved me to the arena with haste. I forgot to place wager on my own self. Ah well, the glory of victory is enough. If you are willing a bout together would excite the crowds."

Ariknoq looks at the big barbarian. "His sword will be welcome addition to our Thurizdon company."
Nordbo, last night the DM was in chat room so we did a quick match. I was hoping to do a team combat if you're up to it. Or possibly a three-person team with Inferno?

A graceful half elven figure glides through the crowd and approaches you. Shining chain mail gleams beneath a weathered and worn travel cloak.

"Well fought! My my what a victory over such an accursed beast! Please allow me to aide in your recovery!"

Cast CSW on Ariknoq:

[2d8+1] = 16+1 = 17
