Background:

Etruna was raised by her Eristani father after her mother died in childbirth. Etruna's Elven features provide her only knowledge of her mother. For whatever reason, her father never spoke of her mother.

Etruna's father owned and operated a team of wagons that would haul goods between cities. For several years, Etruna traveled with and assisted her father in his trade. When she was 14, her father left her in the care of a society of Druids. His last words were oblique, hoping that she would find some connection to her heritage. A year later, Etruna received word that her father had been killed by an attack on his wagon team. With no outside family, Etruna, eventually adopted the ways of the Druids for herself.

Etruna's experience with her father has given her good knowledge of draft animals and the business of transporting cargo. She has greater admiration and empathy for beasts of burden, finding balance in the service they provide in exchange for care given by their master.

Although she had great love for the beauty of the forest and her peaceful life with the Druids, Etruna eventually became dissatisfied with the general seclusion of her home and longed to travel. Her mentor gave her permission to depart, assuring her that "a Druid can find fulfillment in any locale, forest, meadow, mountain, city, or even deep underground. Mortaya is but an extension of life itself, and thus is not limited to any single place." Her heart at ease, Etruna left her friends, and began her journey.

Etruna arrived in Laire a day prior to the Spring Festival, having heard mention of it from a grateful farmer, for whom she provided assistance.

Appearance:

Etruna is of slight build, about 5 and a half feet in height. She has medium length chestnut colored hair. Because she frequently finds herself traveling alone, she often wears her hair up in a brown cap, helping to hide her gender as well as her elven ears. She wears a grayish, green cloak.

Personality:

Etruna's years of training with the Druids have given her an even tempered spirit. She is slow to anger, but when wronged, will wait for an opportunity to restore balance. She is motivated by curiosity and a desire for discovery less than fortune or power. Her first response to conflict is to find a peaceful resolution. Behind her conciliatory manner, however, lies a fierce Druid warrior, who will not be cornered. Life and death are but mirror images and one cannot exist without the other.

Etruna enjoys the company of adventuresome spirits and is not above a good cup of strong ale or wine. She is not given, however, to excessive drink.
