I'm still in. I have a couple of questions and still need to finish up my character sheet.

Can you expand a little on the "Standard Equipment" section?

Hey all,

I have gone through and set up the basic elements, listed roughly as they appear on the CRS, with basic calculations and descriptions. Hopefully I got it all right. This sucker has some serious complexity to it. Hopefully it helps a fe folks.

ybn1197,

1) Are we going to be using encumbrance?
2) For equipment, do we start off with the "Integrated Individual Fighting System (IIFS) with the Following" with optional canteens AND the "Field Pack, Large, with Internal Frame (FPLIF), Woodland (20 kg)" or am I reading that wrong?
3) I'm assuming for the game mechanics you are going to walk us through it as we go along? I'm starting to get a feel for it, but there's a lot there to go through.

That's all I can think of presently. Is everyone ready to start this sucker? I know I am.

No problem. I'm really excited to play this game so I'm doing my best to wrap my brain around it. The source material for this thing is kind of wacky, similar to how AD&D was, though maybe worse. The link thesniperknight1 put in helped to clarify some things too. I copied and pasted it all into a document for easier reading:

Thanks for that Antman9. To answer your questions:
  1. Only within reason. I am not a stickler for the numbers, but if you think you are going to carry a rifle, 2 pistols, an anti-tank weapon, a full pack, and ammo for everything we are going to have words.
  2. I have to go through the optional list. That list is based on starting location. I will need to trim it and maybe add some stuff. Everything above that section is part of your standard equipment.
  3. I fully intend to walk everyone through this. I am fully aware that most of you have not played this game. And its been over 20 years since I played it as well so we will work our way through it slowly.

Thanks for the reply YBN1197.

How do our character sheets look so far. Are we (me) missing anything form the mechanics side? I figure we can deal with the equipment side as we move along. From the sound of it we will just be waking up from a long sleep, right?

I'm ready to go whenever you are...Whoohooooooo! Let's get this party started already. Dang!

:? :o

Finished my sheet, ybn, please take a look at mine as well, I am afraid of being wrong, particularly in skill calculations. Antman, thanks for the pdf, it helped me complete the sheet but the free skills in the pdf are different from the free skills in ybn's initial post :?

Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention that. I was making it directly from the guide for future use as well. I still have a bit of work to do on it I just haven't had much extra time lately. Hopefully well get started here soon. I think I'm gonna roll up a second character this weekend too.
