"I tried on the warrant, but there isn't enough hard evidence in the letters. At least at the local law enforcement level. I know the BOI was leaning hard to get that, and may have at a Federal level. I don't know, I haven't talked with their head agent here for a couple days now."

"Jesus, those crazies actually hacked off the hand?" Sipowicz stares at Archer's prosthetic hand.

[Inferno]

Sam Archer, private eye:

"I don't know who's crazier, the cultists or the BOI," Archer muttered as he mopped up the yolk with his toast. "...Or me."

"Feeling sympathetic enough yet for another favor?" Archer asked.
No matter the reply, Archer said, "Can you find out what you can about a James Ford, of Ford Real Estate Holdings?"

[Grognardsw]

Sipowicz shovels in the homefries as he nods. "Sure, I can look into him."

"This thing seems pretty serious. I heard about those murders - some sick stuff. Be careful out there."

[Inferno]

Sam Archer, private eye:

"Right. If I was smart, I'd drop the damn case," Archer said. Then: "You be careful too. This Ford joker could be in it up to his neck with those cultist lunatics. His daughter, too."

Archer picked up the check, got his hat, and walked out with his old partner. "Thanks Andy. Call me when you find something."

[Grognardsw]

Sipowicz nods as Archer leaves the diner. The private eye makes his way to the hotel to meet with Agent Mulder and the consulting investigators.

We'll pause here for the others to catch up. They're going to bed the prior night.
