Clark pulls his blaster and fires in one motion... he forgets whether it was set to kill or stun, but now is not the time for such niggling details. ((OOC: Would prefer Stun, but I think Kill is the default...))

Zinn starts to open his mouth to try and con the troopers, citing that they were contracted to deal with the computer systems, when Clark pulls and fires his blaster. "Frak!" is all he manages to say as he brings his own weapon up and fires at one of the troopers.

((OOC: Zinn already has his weapon set to stun))

Half of the Rebel band explode into action while the other half stands still; a bit in shock at the sudden sight of the Stormtroopers....

Clark's shot zips out of his Blaster pistol and the Professor is a bit relieved to see the blue stun rings reach out for the Imperial. He is dismayed though that his shot just misses his target and harmlessly dissipates against the asteroid base's wall. His intended target fires back and Clark hisses in a brief moment of shock and pain as the bolt creases his side; but luckily for him the armored clothing absorbs the blast and only a slight bit of a burn is felt from the Stormtrooper's shot...

Zinn's shot is much more accurate and the stun rings slam solidly into the White-armored trooper's chest and he drops like a stone onto the floor. With that; La'Reth and Gavin seem to shake themselves out of their shock; while the remaining trooper begins to back up while still firing at the Rebels....

Clark and La'Reth both manage to hit the remaining Stormtrooper with stun blasts before he can get away or get any more shots off and the trooper hits the deck with a clatter of armor and blaster carbine, followed by shocking silence as the brief gunfight comes to an abrupt end. One of the following Stormtrooper's helmet comlink clicks on and a just barely audible voice can be heard; "DJ 731, what's your status; was that shots fired? Report...."

Gavin and Zinn seem a bit lost at the moment and a quiet Suskafoo breaks the silence with; "Umm....I believe we should get moving fellow Rebel hive-mates..."; he says in an obviously scared voice....

Clark picks up the helmet and puts it on. "Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?"

Zinn rolls his eyes. "Seriously?" he asks, even as he starts stripping the armor off the troopers so they can appropriate it. "Did you just try to bluff an Imperial squad commander by sounding like something out of "Little Lost Bantha Cub?!" Shaking his head and chuckling under his breath, Zinn looks the armor over to make sure it's all serviceable ((OOC: assuming it is here, since we used stun bolts instead of the lethal setting)), then will start donning a set.

There's a bit of a pause on the com link and then the same voice comes back with; "Glad to hear it. Please make sure to keep all weapons properly maintained to prevent further accidents. Do you need any assistance?"

Zinn shoots a smiling Clark an incredulous look and the Professor responds with; "Negative, situation under control now, thanks." Clark proceeds to strip the other unconscious Stormtrooper of his armor and slip it on; though the fit is far from ideal as he's a bit taller than most Stormtroopers. La'Reth, Storm and Suskafoo follow the two new 'Stormtroopers' as they carefully move down the corridor and seeing that the two Troopers stationed at the other intersection aren't paying close attention; they quickly duck into the Repulsor Beam control chamber.

The chamber is small and filled with all manner of computer banks and control stations and another entrance/exit opens on the far side of the room. A pair of grey coverall-clad Imperial technicians are studying the controls and monitoring the screens to ensure everything is working correctly and they belatedly look up in a bored manner at the arrival of 5 newcomers and one of them looks a bit confused and turns to the 'Stormtroopers' and asks; "Umm….what's going on?"

"System upgrade" Clark responds. "These new techies are supposed to be doing something, although damned if I know what. What I do know is that I was told to escort them, and to clear the room out while they work." Clark pauses to glare at the imps, at least as well as he can manage through a Stormtrooper helmet, and waits to see if they move.

Reaching out with the Force, La'Reth enhances his suggestions to the techs to stand aside to let them go about their business which is on a need to know basis but of critical importance to the security of the Empire in this sector.

Zinn rolls his eyes inside his stormtrooper helmet; clearing the room would make everyone suspicious. It would give the troopers down the corridor pause, likely making them investigate more closely, when they had been fairly nonchalant previously. Hoping to help cover the possible lack of foresight, Zinn pipes up. "We've also been ordered to escort you to a secure location. There was an equipment malfunction, so we're to direct you away from that area."

He hated the idea of splitting the group up, but this was the only thing he could think of to keep the Imperial techs quiet.

The two Imperial techs look at each other and one rolls his eyes and shakes his head while the other just shrugs and they turn towards Zinn-the-Stormtrooper and say; "Okay, where do we go then?"; leaving the computer banks and controls unattended for Suskafoo, La'Reth, Gavin and Clark-the-Stormtrooper....

Clark aims his blaster at the controls. "Any of you know how to work this thing?" he asks, intending to open fire on a negative response.

The techs leave with Zinn-the-Stormtrooper; though one throws Clark-the-Stormtroopers a strange look as he asked about working the computers as they were being led out and he answered in a confused tone; "No; we were about to dismantle these controls…"; but Zinn hustles him through the intersection and towards one of the winding tunnels that leads to the Verpine barracks area.

The Techs are really confused and turn to ask the disguised Rebel Stormtrooper in their midst about what exactly was going on when the Rebel pilot turned his Blaster Carbine on them at point-blank range and with a quick pair of Stun Blasts; he sent them both into unconsciousness and dragged their bodies into a dark corner away from the entrance. Then, as nonchalantly as possible he crossed the intersection back to the Repulsor control room….

Meanwhile; back in the Repulsor control room; the others take a look at the Verpine built Repulsor control panels; and Gavin has SOME idea of how to work the controls but Suskafoo turns to the others and asks; "I can work these controls my Rebel-hive mates; what is it you wish me to do? Turn the Repulsors off?"

It is at about this time that Zinn-the-Stormtrooper returns to the room to see Suskafoo talking to Gavin, La'Reth and Clark-the-Stormtrooper...

Gavin "Off or on what was it you wanted me to do?" Gavin says as he looks the controls over and tries to discern if he can just do something with the controls to get rid of the situation.

"Yeah, just turn the damned thing off." Clark replies. "And if possible, lock it so it can't be easily turned back on."

Gavin does his best to do as he is being asked. Pressing buttons or levers like he is a natural. "There that ought to do it."

Zinn walks back to his teammates, hearing them discussing the disposition of the controls. "Our Imperial technicians are in dreamland now," he says. Pointing at the control console, Zinn adds, "I agree; we should sabotage the controls after we shut the system down. If possible, we need to make it look like nothing is amiss here...perhaps clipping some wires inside the console, so they can't be reversed without some serious examination, which will hopefully buy us enough time to pull this off, if the Force is with us..."

Gavin moves a few levers and controls and says; "There; that ought to do it"; and then turns when he hears a strange humming sound coming from behind him. Suskafoo, the ever polite and quiet Verpine moves gingerly to the controls and undoes what Gavin had just done and instead moves a few other controls and presses a few buttons and then turns to Zinn and says; "I believe what you are asking for has been done hive-mate Zinn."

As if to prove his point; a few moments later the entire asteroid bases shakes as a meteorite collides with the now unprotected base and everyone lurches a bit and does their best to stay on their feet. Before long, the sounds of running personnel and raised voices could be heard echoing through the tunnels as everyone was a combination of confused and worried as the base began to get slammed into by the numerous rocks flying through the asteroid field. So far; no one was really paying any attention to the two disguised Stormtroopers or their 'prisoners'....
