Maps and Map-Making

This thread will have a very narrow purpose and guidelines--it is here to track locations visited and recorded by the party, which can then be turned into useful maps. I will include here all maps that the party possesses including who has ownership of them (usually whoever made them, but if they die and the map isn't lost then it will pass to someone else).

Rules for this thread:

1. The first reply to this thread will be for me to record all currently pending locations to be mapped and information on current maps.

2. When a new location is encountered and sufficiently explored to be given a brief but clear descriptor/name (that we all can use to easily identify the location), the map-maker (the one tasked with such recording, usually the one with the best Cartography skill) will post a reply here with just the location's descriptor. Those will be added to the post referenced in #1.

3. When the party makes Camp, the Cartographer will have the opportunity to use a Check to craft a map of newly-explored areas. If successful, the party can navigate using the map per the rules for Cartography (p. 31). Whether the check fails or succeeds, all the locations will be wiped from the post in #1. If the check was not successful, this means those areas will need to be revisited and re-added in order for a map to be made of them at a later date. Clearly the map-maker wasn't paying attention previously and needs to refresh their memory about the relations of things, or they made a faulty map and you follow it at your own peril.

4. If the party makes Camp but the Cartographer does not attempt to convert notes into a Map, the locations in the pending post are STILL WIPED. The map maker goes to sleep and their memory is just unclear or jumbled enough not to be of use in making a proper map at a later time.
