Chapter 10: A Time for Recovery & Revelations
Re: Chapter 10: A Time for Recovery & Revelations
Lutha Cee & Wolfram:
Just by chance, after buying the throwing axes, Wolfram sees the others go in to the pawn shop, follows them and by sheer luck hears that a man called Gregius there can identify magic items.
Lutha, too, drops in and asks Gregius on Wolfram's behalf:
"My good sir, greetings from the town of Cee. Sharing your interest - but not your magnificent talent - in the sector of enchanted items, pray tell would it be at all possible to take a look at this
mace my niece here has been kindly lent by a man of the cloth (who unfortunately did not have time to explain all its functions before they parted) ? What clues to its abilities does its aura give you - if
any. And, eh, ahrrm, whether this service entails any fee, of course"

Kormak:
Dude we have a line of credit remember? Also Mort just refills his bolt quiver for the total of 2 score Kormak has 2 score arrows and a spare bow for Choe.Dizlexus wrote:another dozen for Choe too Mort!GreyWolfVT wrote:Mort goes and buys many more arrows. Then He and Kormak meet up at the One-Eyed Cat Tavern for a meal.
Kormak goes with Mort and considers buying some throwing axes. (4 total) Then proceeds to the One-Eyed Cat Tavern.
Choe don't have cash! Just a bear skin.

Dungeon Master:
Gregius says to Lutha & Wolfram,
"Ahh, yes, this mace is of fine craftsmanship & the engravings on it, like the bone scroll, are those pertaining to Dagda. It is 1 Gold Piece & then i would cast a "Detect Magic", onto it. Proceed?"
Yes, more than likely the line of credit would extend to the new party of adventurers.
For Gregius or any magic-user to learn what the item is or capable of doing, a Legend Lore (6th level spell), would be needed, & in this case would take 2-12 weeks of casting to figure it out!
Of course using the item, one could guess-timate what it does/is capable of.

we really stocked up on arrows using the Keep's line of credit, didn't we?

Ok, to get things moving along here:
5 Healings available today from Sister Opal, Brother Martin, Chaplain Abercrombie (2) & Borum.
Let me know whom you want the healings done on & Borum give me a [1d8] roll for this.
Sister Opal reminds you that there is very little in the Keep of potions of healing thus it is not for sale.
We can move to evening at the Inn.
Still need to know what Wexley/Lutha wants to do regarding Fr. Tenebaum's Mace.

Dungeon Master:
Ok, you pay Gregius the 1 GP & he cast the Detect Magic spell on Fr. Tenebaum's Mace & after about 6 seconds of magic words & hand motions, says,
"Ah yes, this mace does indeed have a light magical enchantment to it."
On, as to whom Borum healed, [1d6] = 5 1-3: Maya or 4-6: Mort
Cure Light Wounds[1d8] = 3
Mort is now fully healed!
Hit Points now needed for fully Restored Health:
Idonea needs 4 HP
Kormak needs 2 HP
Maya needs 3 HP
Wolfram needs 1 HP

Mr. Choe:
Later at the Tavern, Choe . . .
Enters the tavern wearing the bear skin he has altered.
He looks something like this:
But in Mr. Choe's mind he looks like this:
Mr. Choe is looking for an authority figure to question about the lock down.
This lock down is frustrating, he thinks, but I must be the reed that bends in the wind, lest I break.

Victor:
At the sight of Choe entering in his new attire Victor cannot help but call out to him,
"Choe my humble friend you have done it again! I thought I had seen the limits to your fashionable exploits! Your skills at looking divine are truly that, divine!"

As the adventurers begin fill into the One-Eyed Cat Tavern for the evening, the others in the party that needed healing had it done prior:
Hit Points now needed for fully Restored Health:
Idonea needs 4 HP : Chaplain Abercrombie heals: [1d8] = 4 HP
Kormak needs 2 HP : Chaplain Abercrombie heals: [1d8] = 7 HP
Maya needs 3 HP : Sister Opal heals: [1d8] = 4 HP
Wolfram needs 1 HP : Brother Martin heals: [1d8] = 8 HP
All of the adventurers are now healed up to their full Hit Points!
Mr. Choe asked an off duty Guard about being able to continue their mission now that the party is fully healed of their wounds.
The guard will relay this to Castellan Devereaux, when he returns to duty shortly.

Dungeon Master:
Now that Maya has the Plate mail: it will be AC 3 or AC 2 with her new shield, as far as she knows.
Maya can give Idonea her old Banded Mail armor & Shield: (AC 4 or AC 3 with shield) & Idonea's, Chain
Haulberk armor (AC 5) to Sister Opal who will now be (AC 5 or AC 4 with her shield).
With Fr. Tenebaum being 6', Maya being 5' 11", & Idonea 5' 10", & Sister Opal 5' 9", it will be easy for them to do the armor exchange.
Anyone want Sister Opal's old ringmail armor? If not she will probably sell it.
Also, i am going to clean up the Character sheet thread a bit so it's not 3 pages long!

Dungeon Master:
What are you replacing it with? A step up would be Scale mail & that would run you 45 Gold Pieces.
Ok, Moving things along here:
The guard returns & informs the adventurers they may proceed with their mission.
So, now you all can either stay over for the night or proceed during the evening.
If you are going to do the armor exchanging please indicate your new armor on the character sheets!

Idonea:
"Why in the name of Gais's green garters does Maya need all this room in the bosom? Is this where she stores her rations?"
Idonea gratefully accepts the banded armor from Maya, and then spends the afternoon adjusting it to fit her better, grumbling the whole time about the differences in the two soldier's figures.MonkeyWrench wrote:Maya will indeed give her old armor to Idonea, if she wants it.

gratefully accepts the 18 GP for the ring mail he was not using.
So doesn't need to buy any new armour right now, thanks!

Wolfram has been wearing chain mail since it was given to him on May 13 (forum time), see how it all came about on this page: viewtopic.php?f=96&p=98483#p98483What are you replacing it with? A step up would be Scale mail & that would run you 45 Gold Pieces.
