Whats the numbers looking like right now?
One of the heavies have fallen, two remain and one is in a bad state right now. The Rook Industries is barely holding the wall right now, but is slowly losing ground. The mutant army has taken some huge losses, but there is still a good 50 or so pushing the attack. Most of the snipers have been taken out and only 3 of the 5 super soldier bosses remain. Things are looking pretty bad for the power plant defenses.

Steve/Flicker is able to successfully remove the grate with minimal noise. None of the guards stationed in the room notices. You find yourself on top of a large computer bank. The hum of electronics beneath you indicates that the computer is working overtime. Now that you've made it inside without detection, what you are you going to do while everyone frantically tends to their tasks around you? You spot many types going in and out of the room, armored guards, technicians and engineers in hazard suits, scientists and even the occasional robotic assistant (humanoid).

If there is anything in particular that you are looking for, say so in your response so that I can give you better room details.

Steve Sanderson [Flicker]:

Steve is observing & listening to gather whether the group below him are trying to contain the ichnorite, or let it get critical.

Once he gathers what they are trying to do & perhaps what needs done, Flicker will teleport out of the vent & try to head to contain the ichnorite.

Raven watches the battle below unfold before looking back at the professor, "So... The power plant cannot fall?" raven seems to ponder something for a moment before deciding on something.

Raven sets his large sniper rifle aside on the roof and begins shrugging off his large trench coat, "I will try to buy some time..." Before the coat fully comes off Raven looks back at the group assembled, his face still without any emotion, "If I die, tell Elsa I am sorry." With that Raven drops his coat...

and unfurls two massive black rings, reminiscent to a ravens. He draws his sword, sheathed at his side, and leaps off the edge of the building, flying down to the mass of mutants still trying to gain access to the power plant. He gains as much speed as he can, aiming for one of the big mutant bosses, and slices down in an attempt to behead the mutant...

Sword Attack Initiative: [1d100] = 17, To Hit: [1d100] = 96

Oh snap! Raven finally revealed another power besides his teleportation!

The group of people tending to the computers and machinery are all in a panic, usually speaking about increased levels of unexpected energy output. From what you can gather, they are trying to contain the ichnorite being used within the facility. The main core of the plant is in a fragile state right now and some of the guards are even going over evacuation procedures with some of the personnel.

Some of the scientists are saying that if they were able to bring the large crystalline sample they have to a more open environment, damper the effects of the volatile state, the facility could still be salvaged and the location would no longer be in jeopardy. The main issue though is transporting it safely. Given the circumstances of the mutant army attack, which they seem to be vaguely aware of, the task went from extremely difficult to near impossible. All they can hope to do now is to hold off the attack and barely keep the ichnorite under control until they can bring in their 'Blink Team', whatever that means...

Steve has had experience with transporting small objects using his teleportation disc system, however, he is not so sure if he can do something similar on this large of scale. It's an option though, and doing so will require a major success roll.

....Awesome. 8-)

Raven beheads one of the mutant bosses in one clean slice, the impact of his landing clearing a small area around him, pushing mutant foot soldiers back from the gust created by his wings. The maneuver was just like something out of an action movie. Will the bold hero be able to follow up on this attack?

Enemies are stunned for this round and cannot counterattack; such a high success deserves something like this.

Raven does not waste another second, swinging wildly as he moves through the crowd, use his wings to help move around as he hop/glides. he begins to try and cut down any mutants in his way.

Sword Attack Initiative: [1d100] = 75, To Hit: [1d100] = 25

awesome intro, lame continuation

Steve Sanderson [Flicker]:

Steven relates all that he see/hears while in the vent to Scamp, while telling Scamp to ask the Professor if he has an idea of a 'More Open Environment'.

He then looks to see where he could teleport himself from the vent to a location that would get him closer to whatever the current Ichnorite containment Unit is.

He's is willing to try to transport at least part of the containment unit to a more open environment or at least, anywhere but here.

Because Raven is in direct melee combat now, he will need to roll against his melee for a successful evade maneuver. This will determine whether all the mutants around you hit or not. A minor success/red will negate any damage, a moderate success/blue or higher will add bonuses to your next attack in the form of row shifts. You currently have at least three opponents around you at all times as you run through the crowd of mutants.

-----

The ichnorite containment unit is right in the center of the room. Encased within a cylindrical tank and connected to various pipes and wires, the massive green crystal seems to pulsate with life. From where you are currently at, you notice that there is a lot open space between the computer terminals and the center tank, space that many people are currently using going back and forth between their tasks. You could teleport onto one of the large pipes connecting to the tank, but you have no way of knowing how hot it might be or whether you will be spotted.

Steven Sanderson [Flicker]:

Steve will ask the Professor via Scamp if the Galactic Gloop creates heat, prior to teleporting over to the top of a large pipe above the ichnorite.

Teleportation (30): [1d100] = 38

Would he still have his Shell up ? or new roll needed? if so here:

Shell (40): [1d100] = 4

SCAMP continues to relay messages and sitreps.

Y'all let me know if there's something else useful that SCAMP could do. His mind-control powers don't seem quite as useful when dealing with a mob as opposed to individuals.

After conferring with the professors on this, the question about the ichnorite is quickly answered via SCAMP. It does not generate excessive amounts of heat, at least nothing that would directly effect anything that touches it in terms of burning. However, heat is naturally generated when the chemicals inside the crystal interact with other objects, both animate and inanimate, the interaction being the rapid breakdown and rebuilding of everything into crystals on the atomic level. (Planet terraforming, organism mutation and eventual death)

The professor's theorize that the processing of the ichnorite into a viable fuel source must generate exorbitant amounts of heat, hence the current environment's conditions. Whether the heat is correlated directly to any radiation release that is taking place remains to be seen/analyzed. Either way, Steve feels glad that he is in his protective suit right now, even if it is just for the air conditioning ;)

Steve's teleport is barely a success, having managed to position himself closer to the tank of ichnorite in the center of the room. You are currently on top of a large pipe connected to the tank from above.

Raven manages to weave through all of the enemy attacks, but in doing so misses some strikes of his own. No row shift bonuses are applied. Go ahead and plan your next action or set of actions. One more round of running and you will be able to close the distance between your character and a boss type mutant.

Raven, weaving through the battlefield like some kind of angel of death, continues to run through the masses with his sword swinging and wings used as both buffer and glider to gain more speed and room.

Surveying the battle he spots another boss like mutant and begins making his way towards it.

Evade roll, Melee: 40
Skill Check: [1d100] = 25

Sword attacks
Sword Attack Initiative: [1d100] = 93, To Hit: [1d100] = 31

Raven is raked by 3 poison-laced claws as he charges through the crowds of enemies, but only takes 15 points of damage. Please roll for a Fortitude check to see if you can fight back the poison.

Raven, however, is able to counterattack with two sword strikes of his own, putting two of his attackers down in single hits. After shrugging off his attackers, Raven finally reaches the boss type enemy he was running towards! The tall super solider turns around and looks towards Raven's direction. The foe is quick to bring his high-tech, and very alien looking, shoulder cannon up and aims it at the charging hero.

Flicker is in the position right now to potentially teleport the core of the Rook Industries Power Plant to a more secure location, but he has yet to receive a location for it. It is at this time that Professor Perryton's smartphone blares up again. It is Maurice, and it sounds like he has a plan. SCAMP, already on the ball with the mental communications, instantly transfers the location that is spoken over the phone to Flicker. The military has authorized the teleportation of the power plant's core and designated a set of coordinates in the pacific ocean for safe drop off. The safety of the city is top priority after all, and the explosion that could occur if the mutants had their way, it would be devastating. All that remains is for Flicker to correctly input the coordinates into his disc gun, successfully attach a disc to the core, and then pull the trigger.

If the players want to funnel extra fortune points into this roll, after seeing the result, you can do so. It's a pretty important one after all, considering the implications of failure. ;) All Flicker needs is a blue success, but a yellow would yield even greater results.

Fortitude 40: [1d100] = 4 HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH Oh wow

Raven feels his blood boiling as the poison traces it's way down his veins, he gives the boss type mutant a determined glare as he sets one foot in front of the other, coiling his muscles up in his legs. Raven leaps up in the bosses direction, his wings beating in one powerful burst to gain speed and altitude, he brings his sword up and then down as he reaches the mutant, his eyes never leaving the mutants as he cleaves down.

Sword Attack Initiative: [1d100] = 93, To Hit: [1d100] = 98

not sure what the poison in him is going to do with that roll but if it ends up killing him that last roll was very climactic.

The pure adrenaline rush of Raven's action-movie-worthy stunt temporarily blocks out the effects of the poison and allows him to cleave the Super Soldier Mutant in two, but that is not all! As the sword starts to run down the mutant and split it in two, it managed to fire the high-tech alien cannon. The split sent the shot off course, and clears a gigantic mass of mutants behind Raven, the resulting explosion of green plasma creating shockwaves in the nearby vicinity. All the mutants nearby fall from the force of the blast, but Raven remains standing. Though Raven cannot feel it, due to the adrenaline rush, he did lose an additional 9 points of damage due to the poison. It seems to be clearing his system now. Dust hangs heavily in the air. For a moment, their is silence.

Clearing his system?

What's raven's status? Physically and Mentally?

Aside from the whole... ya know... tortured so badly that he lost all of his memories and was mutated in a lab...

Physically, he has lost 24 damage, with 126 remaining. The poison would have normally caused some level of paralysis, a drain in your movement speed and initiative if anything, but because of your critical success roll, this was negated, mostly because I said so as GM. ;)

Mentally? His past is still very much fractured, only learning what little he could through his old friend Blake and his belongings at the hotel he was staying at. He remembers that he did not have wings before the lab incident and his strange connection to computer malfunctions is just as bizarre as anything else at this point. As to his current mental state, its superficially healthy, if not a little 'off'. As to what is really churning inside, only you really know at this point.

On a side note, Raven seemed to have a good relationship with Elsa, if only on a professional level, the only connection he really made with anyone after the lab memory wipe. With her distancing herself and focusing more on her country's own problems, Raven cannot help but naturally feel isolated from the group, and perhaps the world as a whole.
