Trendt stands near Freddie ready to thump anything kobold like that might come out.

Re: Chpt. 1 Background/Introduction
Ok, here's the deal. People are splitting up, so I'm showing positions on the map with a Red Team and Blue Team.
Red Team - Sammy, Biblo and Gwydion have joined the people in the room with the secret door. Gwennethel has pulled the lever and the stone wall with the torch on it moves into the room beyond. Adel's attempt at hiding in his made shadow has failed, but all seems quiet. As the party walks in, they find yet another room like the last several, again with 5 lit torches on the walls and a wooden table in the center of the room with 6 chairs around it. Nobody is in here, but there are stacks of copper on the table top along with a copper pitcher filled with a red liquid. This room seems like a dead end.
Blue Team - Freddie slips through the open door to another room that is 40'x20'. There are 5 lit torches on the walls and 6 empty wooden chairs. Dakara, Rubesca and Corun (pulling the mule) have entered this room, seeing the party split in two and deciding to add more numbers where they are needed. Trendt and Merthyr follow behind the thief and they move into the big room. It looks completely empty, save for a closed wooden door in the west wall. Freddie, add however many pairs of dice you want to your inventory. There are 4 pairs from the last room.

"Why would a secret door lead to a room with nothing remarkable about it?" wonders Llewellyn aloud. He edges around the walls looking for secret doors.

Re: Chpt. 1 Background/Introduction
Adel turns to Llewellyn. "Yes, curious, isn't it? The secret door in my old jeweler's shop cost me no small amount of money. There must be something of value here or beyond." He will examine the red liquid in the middle of the table, sniffing it and dribbling some onto the table. If it's not obviously poisoned, putrid or blood, he will take a sip to determine its properties. Finally, he will search the south-facing wall that extends just beyond the supply room for another secret passage.
Re: Chpt. 1 Background/Introduction
Gwennethel, Elf Druid
Gwennethel smiles at Gwydion in relief and tells him she is glad he is there as having someone with much in common with her is always a comforting thing. To all she says, You know, I'm very happy we weren't all rushed by something ungodly, but before trying to open any more doors I would like to wait until the rest of the party gets here. We can check this room thoroughly while, hopefully, the others return." Gwennethel goes over to the table to watch the progress of Adel thinking the copper pitchers might be a nice addition to the loot. Gwennethel is also looking at the ceiling to make sure there is nothing unusual noticed.

"Take a look around, but don't open any more doors, I am going back to the others." He says as he moves back to help with the main incursion.

Re: Chpt. 1 Background/Introduction
Red Team - Adel the monk searches out the red liquid in the copper pitcher and sniffs it. He smells a sweet, fragrant red wine, then pours some of it out onto the table surface. It quickly stains the wood a deep red, but doesn't react against the table in any way. Adel then takes a little taste and determines it is a good red wine. The pitcher itself would fetch a price of 20gp.
Gwydion, Coppish, Llewellyn and Adel search the walls thoroughly. When they move to the south wall, they find a metal ring on the floor covered by dirt. The ring is large enough to put two people's hands through and they realize they've found a trap door in the floor, but it doesn't look like anyone or anything has been down there in a long time as it is covered over by heavy dirt and kobold tracks seem to neglect the area. The trap door takes up an entire 10 square feet of that section of the room.
Gwennethel searches the ceiling for anything strange, but sees that everything looks in order. The ceiling is exactly 20' high and made of the same smooth stone that makes up the floor and walls.

Adel turns to Gwydion, Coppish and Llewellyn. "Should we alert the others? I'd surmise this is the path towards the artifacts. Someone went to a lot of trouble to hide the way." Adel will then check the trap door for, well, traps.

Freddie The Fop
Says to Trendt,
Good fellow, look upon the southern edifice. I think we came from a room just on the other side. Your people are better at this than mine. Would you agree? The others must be just on the other side.
Perhaps there is a concealed door -- won't you help me look . . . .

Coppish runs to tell the other group of our findings...

Re: Chpt. 1 Background/Introduction
Several things happen at once. Trendt the Dwarf Cleric sees Freddie the Fop disappear in a flash of blue light at the eastern end of the south wall. Apparently, he's found something, but no longer exists.
There is the sound of a stone door rumbling and sliding open coming from somewhere outside of the rooms of both teams.
Coppish has popped over to the room where Trendt is, announcing the presence of a trap door. He is coming up behind Corun and the mule when he sees the bright flash of blue light, Freddie apparently being swallowed up by the wall. The wooden door in the west wall bursts open and 16 kobolds rush through the door, snarling and making war cries.
The mule becomes frightened and tries to back out of the room, shoving Coppish up flat against the wall. He is unhurt, but trapped there with a big frightened animal. Coppish is now part of Blue Team.
Blue Team must roll for initiative.
Freddie the Fop finds himself just on the other side of the wall in the other room. He is standing right in front of the secret door, which slams shut on him, cutting him off from the others inside the secret room! He hears the sounds of angry, charging kobolds coming from the hallway east of his position, but sees nothing at present.
Red Team - The party inside the secret room sees a bright flash of blue light just outside of the room, but only those few by the secret door can see that Freddie has appeared out of nowhere, having come through the north wall in the room connected on the east side. The secret door slams shut of its own accord, effectively cutting the group off from Freddie. There is a metal lever on the other side that they can easily see should they try to reopen in. They have heard the sound of another stone door rumbling as it slides open, but they are then cut off from all other sound after their own stone door closes.
Adel is checking for traps on the trap door, but finds it completely safe, simply hidden and unused in a very long time.

Gwennethel dashes to the door that just slammed shut from where they had entered and also where they saw Freddie show up in a flash of blue light. She throws the lever on the door as quickly as she can to grab Freddie.

Gwydion, Elf Ranger
Gwydion stares around at the boundless gray fog surrounding him. He is no longer in existence!
He disappeared from the map!!!!
I can't remember what group he is in - if he is in the group facing the kobold charge, and they are far enough away - he drops his sword, grabs his bow and fires two shots. If they are too close, he attacks with his sword.
Coppish
"Away from me you beast!"
He tries to either move from behind it, or underneath it. If neither will do, he tries to mount it!

Ugh! I seriously forgot Gwydion? He's with the Red Team. I'll fix the map.

Freddie The Fop
Freddie runs, round robin, back to where he left Trendt, bow in hand, arrow knocked, angry look on his face -- suddenly, Freddie don't look quite so gay. Perhaps the Fop has a violent streak.

Is Freddie trying to go back through the wall, or running out of the room to go back around the hallway?
