Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Dungeon Master:
The rough cave soon gives way to worked stone tunnels.
Only a few steps in, (20 ft), the passage divides into three.
One Continues straight ahead & ends in a door after 30 feet.
One angles off to the left, forking again at the edge of your vision.
One goes 20 feet or so to the right & then ends in a T-intersection with two narrow corridors leading off north & south.
The muddy floor shows signs of coming & going, in all directions, mostly from bare human-like feet.

Re: Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Are muddy, bare, humanlike feet consistent with what we know about hobgoblins?
Re: Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Dungeon Master:
If so i can tell you a bit more.
Same if Choe, Mort or Wexley look at the prints.
Is the entire group minus Mr. Choe, Mort & Wexley now outside & to the east of the cave entrance?Pulpatoon wrote:Are muddy, bare, humanlike feet consistent with what we know about hobgoblins?

Idonea & Ewat:
Ewat is staying close behind our sneakers, bow drawn and arrow notched.
Idonea is hanging towards the back again, trying to keep an eye on everyone.

Wolfram latches on to Maya, looking at her now & then for hoped approval.

Maya & Victor:
Maya stays at the front of the group, behind the trap finders, as she leads as vanguard for whatever they find.
Victor is in the middle of the formation, holding a torch with one hand and a severed orc head on a stick in the other, quietly commenting on the scenery using the orc head.
"Me no like dis place! Dark fer ma eye! Gahh!! I can't feel my body!"

Borum & Kormak:
Kormak starts to laugh at Victor then stops remembering this is a mission of stealth.... he holds a finger up to his mouth shushing Victor. Then he smiles and whispers to Victor,
"You know they say if you let someone with infravision spit in your eyes you gain their infravision abilities."
Borum overhears Kormak's joke to Victor and does a silent chuckle.

Victor:
Victor gives Kormak an incredulous look, speaking in a hushed tone,
"what... no it doesn't... does it..?" he thinks on the idea, speaking to himself, "This could change everything..."

Re: Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Really?Mr. Choe, being a Monk can not search for traps, however i will use that roll as a search for secret/concealed doors converted to a 1d6 roll, & in that case none were found!
Monks have the following thief abilities which they perform at identical
level of xperience to that of a thief, i.e. a 1st level monk performs as a 1st
level thief, a 2nd level monk as a 2nd level thief, etc. The abilities are:
1. Open Locks
2. Find/Remove Traps
3. Move Silently
4. Hide in Shadows
5. Hear Noise
6. Climb Walls
Page 30-31 players hand book.
Choe looks for traps! and would like his roll of 04 to be used focusing on the ceiling.
All GMs are evil.

Dungeon Master:
Opps, don't know what i was thinking Dizlexus! Anyways you found no traps along the floor!
Wexley & Mort move up to the 10'-20' with Mr. Choe & they found no doors or anything else!
As to the Prints you see all sorts of prints here as it is obviously heavily trafficked.
Mostly smaller than human, some larger & some definitely human are the easy footprints to make out.

Re: Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Wexley waits for the others to come in, then whispers a message back to Borum. Straight or left? it looks like the branch to the right splits and we'd have problems covering both directions.
As he awaits Borum's decision, he will listen intently for any sound at this junction. Hear Noise [1d100] = 64 remaining in what shadows may offer concealment as he does Hide in Shadows/Camo [1d100] = 98
Might as well be deaf and be standing with a beacon on me with these rolls
