Borum:
Borum takes the coins and puts them in his belt pouch for now.
"Alright well to the caves unless we can spot any more of the orcs out here. The Druid said southern caves so lets check them as best we can."

Idonea:
Idonea raises a waterskin. "Here's to Wexley! That was impressive work!"
Looking out over the southern caves, she sighs, "And here's to the Bee-Man, too. Nice to finally have a sense of direction as to where to start. Shall we start with the nearest and lowest cave?"

Wexley:
Finished with his delivery to Borum, he readies his bow and sets off, moving in a southern direction back towards the caves with Ms. Choe and Mort hopefully to his right and the creek to his left.
He moves to ensure he minimizes his silhouette against the bonfire as much as possible.

Maya & Victor:
Maya stays with the group, also acknowledging Wexley's role. She looks around with a confused look, "Where is Victor?"
As if his name was the tool necessary to summon him Victor emerges from the bush that the orcs were near, his clothes dirty and full o burs. "Well, that was fun! Haha!"

Mr. Choe:
Choe is taking a shine to the vivacious Mr. Wex.
Choe will stick by his side and help keep the party out of traps.
Up to the cave mouth they go.
Choe informs the party," I wish to discover a halberd or a similar pole arm -- keep your eyes open for one please."

Dungeon Master:
There is one Cave Mouth directly to the south & slighly west of where the pyre is.
There is another about halfway in the south wall of the valley & another farther west & way up high.
Which cave entrance shall it be?
To Back track just a tad i will let Wexley find his other 2 arrows stuck in the trees if he gives me 2 Intelligence checks.
Otherwise Wexley can try again in the daylight.

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Q: Is this closer cave the one we already went partly into though?

Dungeon Master:
You know: Starting from the rightmost northern side Cave, which contains the Orcs you have just battled - The Middle northern side cave - where you tried to smoke out the occupants & the next
cave left of that one is the Orc Cave Fr. Tenebaum told you all about.
Then there is the Owlbear Cave left of that Orc Cave, & higher.
See the 3 big boulders on the south bank of the Goblinwater Creek on the far right (east) of the map?
The group is bunched behind the biggest boulder there (on it's right side).
The nearest cave is directly South West of your position & is definitely the closest cave.
No, Neither the first Party or the Current grop of Adventurers have been to the south cave nearest to you all now.GreyWolfVT wrote:Q: Is this closer cave the one we already went partly into though?

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Crossing the creek, Wexley moves carefully towards the nearest of the southern caves, listening if he should detour to another if signaled by Borum.
He moves to ensure he does not stand against the light of the pyre and instead skirts the edge of the forest, checking to see if any have set up camp or ambush there before taking a stance and signaling the others to cross while providing lookout.
Not too worried about the arrows. I have 18 left unless I missed a count somewhere and if I run out before that time...Wexley will be in a world of hurt by then. Question, did we rest sufficiently to gain back the 1st level spell?

Yes, it was for 8 hours (1:30pm-9:30pm), so magic-users gained back their spells.Question, did we rest sufficiently to gain back the 1st level spell?

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Mort tries to catch up to Wexley to help scout the cave.
Kormak starts decapitating orc bodies if he can find any.
Borum signals to Wexley and Mort that he indeed would like that cave at least scouted to the entrance. Then he moves up to the pyre.

Maya & Victor:
Maya waits for the scouts to return with their report as well as the next order from Borum.
Victor, in some sick display of humor, gathers a couple of the decapitated heads that Kormak severed and places them on sticks. He follows Kormak around and uses the heads like puppets, "Grah! Me mad Orc! Lose body now float around! Grah!"

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Dungeon Master:
Ok, so Borum, Kormak, Mort & Victor went north across the creek to meet Wexley after the Orc Pyre battle & started chopping off Orc Heads & playing around with the bodies?
Well, Mr. Choe, Maya, Sister Opal, Fr. Tenebaum, Radac, Karick, Idonea, Ewat, Lutha Cee & Wolfram, all stay behind the big boulder on the south bank of the Goblinwater Creek.
Then Wexley, moves south across the creek, Meets up with the rest of the group there, chats with the group about the pyre battle &
then with Mr. Choe, goes to scout out the nearest cave opening to the southwest.
As Wexley & Mr. Choe move southwest towards the cave Mort is seen bounding across, without falling into, the creek to meet up with them & continue to the cave.

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Dungeon Master:
Mr. Choe, Mort & Wexley, approach the cave entrance to the south west, coming to rest to the eastern side of the cave entrance.
Anyone here have a torch (for Mr. Choe & Mort)? Will Wexley take a look inside first using his infravision?

Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Wexley will approach the cave first, listening quietly for a moment to see if anything is head. Hear Noise [1d100] = 93
Idiot is deaf as a post
If all is quiet, he will then look using his infravision to see if anything is moving or in hiding that generates heat, if nothing is seen, he will examine the entranceway for traps as possible Floor [1d100] = 83, Right Wall [1d100] = 74, Left Wall [1d100] = 40, Front Wall [1d100] = 36Back Wall [1d100] = 24, ceiling [1d100] = 74, secret doors [1d6] = 6 without light first to not alert any of their presence
At all times he will be ready to quickly withdraw if need be.

Lutha Cee:
Lutha finds this insanely hilarious and cracks up totally. Wolfram, however, doesn't get the joke"Grah! Me mad Orc! Lose body now float around! Grah!"
Re: Chapter 8: A Camping We Will Go
Dungeon Master:
Wexley notes that there is nothing inside the cave entrance when he peers in from the eastern side.
His examination of the first 10 feet reveals nothing more than a natural cave with a rough texture.
