Chapter 6: Into the Valley of the Caves of Chaos

Kormak recognizes the signals Mort is using as it is a system he and Mort used for a long time "Looks like he is signaling something big is coming a bear? No an Owl? Wait no owlbear."

Maya, "lovely..."

Victor, at the ridge with the second group, "So... lets go back down! Let us converge again to make one group! Unison is the key to life after all."

Mr. Choe

This creature is unnatural. Let's kill it before it enters the cave, Choe says while knocking an arrow.

Well, isn't that something nice. Can't eat it, can't tame it, can't call it a friend. I'll bet it has cubs to feed or is part of a colony or some such.

Wexley shifts his attention to focus on the owlbear, but occasionally glances back towards the Orc cave uncertainly. His bow remains ready, but he does not keep the tension on the arrow lest a good target presents himself and Borum commands action.

Here is where it gets confusing thought we all were at the cave north of our position on map and the party that climbed up how would they hear what we are all talking about in the group with Borum?

Creeping carefully, Ewat tries to keep the Owlbear in line of sight. He has an arrow notched. Can he see what the creature is dragging?

Dungeon Master:

The Owlbear's breakfast appears to be a gnoll, almost as tall as it is.

The Owlbear continues to drag the body towards the cave opening closest to him.

Maya, "Borum, do we engage or let the beast be?"

Victor, at the ridge, whistles when he see's the large creature. "I bet that creature is a sure hoot of a fight! Hahahah, See what I did there?!"

Borum "If n' ya want ta fight it sure but sounds like it is doing us a favor eatin gnolls maybe it'll help flush out some orcs." he says with a grin.

Kormak chuckles.

Dungeon Master:

In spite of the whistling & laughing from Victor, the OwlBear contines onto the cave & is just outside of it,

Shifting to pull the dead Gnoll into the cave.

Kormak is silently cheering on the beast.

Maya, "I'm no pacifist, but I don't see any merit in killing a creature that's minding it's own business."

Mort watches the owlbear but does not make an act to attack it.

Borum "Well if you wish to put it plainly yes that is what I was sayin'. Alright since this is leading us nowhere lets regroup with the others...."

[MonkeyWrench]

Maya, "Victor should be telling them to come down now, it's taking longer than expected though..."

Victor, "So... How 'bout going down the ridge now? Remember, unity!"

Hearing Borum's answer to the question about attacking the Owlbear, Wexley lets his attention focus back on the Orc cave and the surroundings.

Too bad we can't entice it to enter one of these two caves for us. I'm sure it would be a "welcome surprise" for those within. However, I don't carry gnoll meat and I am not to fond of attempting to be "bait" and a change of diet for him.

Chuckling lightly, Wexley scans upwards a moment to see if he can spot the ridgeline party before looking around slowly once more

Kormak "Yeah Wexley that would be a good plan perhaps if one could bait the owlbear but be invisible..."

Borum smiles at Wexley and Kormak "That'd be a trick indeed. That'd give them orcs or hobgoblins a wake up call day or night."

Mr. Choe Runs

Mr. Choe runs to enter the cave behind the Owlbear, as sneaky as possible.. (yes, choe has gone rogue, too much talking and no plan!)

alright well with players going off and doing stupid crap I think I might just leave the game.....

Not sure Wexley would be able to see either the Owlbear, nor Mr. Choe heading into the cave unless me moves, so Wexley would continue his normal routine of watching the area and the Orc Cave

I do not foresee such an event occurring. Master Borum, do you think we should join those above or perhaps signal them to rejoin us and make a plan of attack as the cave fire seems to be decreasing and the smoke has lessened?

Wexley does not look at Borum in asking the question, but keeps scanning for possible targets and stays alert.

Lutha Cee:

When the coast is clear, meaning when there is no more danger of being spotted by the owl bear, Lutha (spell ready) and Wolfram (weapon ready) will move back to rejoin "Maya's group". Lutha will keep peering back at Tenebaum, though.
