Conan examines the grate. There is a simple lock (+10% to pick), however you are under water (-5%) and without proper thieves tools (-15%). The grate itself seems rickety.

There was an earlier post where I looked for and successfully picked a lock on this grate. I'm guessing that was too many actions described in one single post? So here goes another try, Pick Locks 62% [1d100] = 96
Not a big shocker there.

If nothing to do but bend, how soon can he try again?
Is this the earlier post you referred to as picking lock? I saw Find Traps, which is why I had you roll for Pick Locks.

You can next try to bend bars at +15% due to rickitiness.

This one. It's not big deal though.

If there is air, he'll stick his face to the grate and breath before he goes to work on it. If there is not, he BENDS BARS 30% [1d100] = 77
When he fails, he looks for a lock and then tries to pick it LOCKS 52% [1d100] = 30

I missed that somehow. The roll should count.
Conan negotiates the lock, swims through the open grate and up the shaft. At 10' the surface appears.

Conan swims up along a wall to the light. The thought of drowning angers Conan. Thinking of the non-lethal obstacles he's incurred, he wonders how the thieves would have saved him from this. Then he wonders if he's gone in the right direction or is he off the playing field. When he rises, he'll be ready for anything.

Conan sees a 20'x20' chamber with a door in the west wall. The door has a pull-ring in the center of it.

Conan listens at the door before examining it further.
Hear Noise 20% [1d100] = 35 Find Traps 45% [1d100] = 45
If there is no traps or unusual sounds coming from the door, Conan pulls the door open by the rung.

Conan discovers the pull-ring turns right. He experiments with slow turns and on the second complete turn feels the lock click, unlock, and he door opens a half-inch to be pulled the rest of the way.

Beyond is a 30'x20' chamber, with no floor but a 20' deep pit over which are two 4"-wide wooden beams running across. The beams are 5' apart from each other. At the bottom of the pit is a web of stringy ropes and lines.

At the other side is a ledge 3' deep which runs the length of the wall. At the north end of the ledge is an open portal into another room, the details of which cannot be seen.

At the other end of one of the beams is a female in tight clothes, a 10' pole in her hands. She smiles, steps forward onto one of the beams, twirls her pole above her head, and cartwheels skillfully on the beam. Quite an acrobat this one, thinks Conan.

Conan steps onto the opposite beam. Concentrating on his steps, he barrels on towards the other end. "Whats a pretty girl such as yourself, doing in a place like this, eh?"

With equal speed the thief-acrobat moves out onto the parallel plank, balancing with her pole-arm.

"Keeping the posers out of the Guild," she snaps back in answer.

The Cimmerian and the woman meet half-way. She swings low at Conan's legs. He feels stinging pain (4 HP damage) and struggles to stay on top of the 4-inch wide plank (Dex. check using 4d6.)

"Move away little squirrel."
Not sure what my moves are. If he can run past her to the opening, he will. If she gets to swing the 10' pole again, Conan will ATT her first instead. ATT roll(if needed)[1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15
Punch[1d2+4] = 2+4 = 6

Assuming actions means she can swing that pole again
Conan attempts to blast every tooth out of her pretty little mouth just to despite her and the other thieves deadly ability to swing massive poles in short spaces with lightning speeds.

To your question on moves, you're both on 4" wide beams, parallel to each other but 5' distant, over the pit room, about half-way across the 20'. She's trying to knock you off.

Conan says, as he attempts to brain the bitch, "I hope the 10' pole-ninja-guild will teach me their tricks when this is over"
Quarter staffs are 6', but they swing 10' as efficiently.

Thief-Acrobat - Round Two

Conan and the thief-acrobat face each other on opposite 4"-wide beams over the pit. The girl swings her pole across at the Cimmerian, grazing him (2 HP, and 3d6 Dex. check.) Conan in turn lands a right hook (5 HP and 3d6 Dex. check.)

Actions for Round Three!

[1d20+2] = 5+2 = 7[1d2+4] = 2+4 = 6
Can you do your 3d6 Dex. check roll too to see if you fall off from her round two blow, as she will roll too from your blow.

The last one was 4d6/I'll roll both. [4d6] = 9[3d6] = 8
