Jinx shrugs and shakes his head no "All I have are daggers and I am not about to loose the only ones I have to a blob."

"I fear I am not going to be of much use at this time either. Not much use at all."added Otikas, "My remaining spells will be quite useless against this gelatinous monstrosity. There is a most useful spell that I could use that would most handily defeat this beast....most handily indeed. i just need... say...eight hours to prepare."

Hrothgar the Dwarf

"Bah!" Hrothgar coughs, "Enough of this retreating!" He strides forward to flank the cube and swings away.
DM: "Black Dougal gasps 'Poison!' and falls to the floor. He looks dead."
Fredrik: "I'm grabbing his pack to carry treasure in."

Jinx lets out a sigh "I guess if I go at least I go down fighting."

"Well done lads! Have at it now! Give it the old what for, I must say!" encourages Otikas as he makes small stabing and slashing gestures in the air with his dagger from safely across the room.

Wolf will prepare an oil pot to throw if this round of attacks doesn't finish it off.

(The DM rolls for those who failed to roll. In the future such things will cause a -1 penalty. Please if you attack roll your attack and damage rolls ;) )

The party reverses course, making a stand at the passage as Logan runs, Arrows strike, blows are landed, and it still has a few places on fire. The cube slides towards the melee attackers, only to after a spear bisects it, to shudder, and stop moving. The cube starts to "Cry" as the jelly potion of the critter starts to turn to liquid, with peices of it falling off it to "melt" by its own. The party pauses, dumbfoudned, as the Cube that they where fleeing just moments before is dead, and soon items start to fall off it.

Logan can come back now 8-)

(Recover all arrows and spear, in addition, a rusty longsword and some chain-mail is inside the cube as it falls to the ground. )

(DM note: Congrats, nice rolls when you had your backs to the wall)

Logan, fighter

Logan halts his full-throttle sprinting when he realizes the cube is no longer following him. Breath heavy, adrenelin high, the fighter returns to the empty room. He sees the putrefied remains of gelatinni and smiles.

"Well done, that was a strange creature," Logan says, collecting the arrows he fired. "Shall we continue our explorations?"
Did Logan run far enough to see where the southwest corridor went into?

Jinx "Well indeed that thing was something of the like I'd never seen before. Do they typically melt like that?" then he sets to wiping off anything that came out of the thing that might be of use.

"Ahhh, yes...it is quite common indeed, I would think. Once the vital life forces have fled the gelatinous body, there remains nothing to hold it together. No longer animated in death, its 'will' , if you will...to maintain its cube shape is no longer present, thus it takes the natural form of all such gelatinous creatures. The very natural form you see here before you, I must say!" Otikas points to the melting pile of goop on the floor in front of them.

Hrothgar the dwarf

Cleaning the goo from his axe blade with a rag, Hrothgar grunts "I don't know what language he's talking but I thinks we just killed the hell out of the thing!"
DM: "Black Dougal gasps 'Poison!' and falls to the floor. He looks dead."
Fredrik: "I'm grabbing his pack to carry treasure in."

Alysuil picks out her spear, daintily, trying not to touch the melted pile or get any goo on her. She will try to clean her spear with a rag, but will abandon it if she cant get the smell off it.

The gear is cleaned, as the goo almost disappears as it melts and slowly evaporates. Among the goo is a longsword, some chain armor, and some small coins. (10 silver, 3 gold, and 27 copper)

(DM let me know what you pick up, and if not, where does the party want to head? does the party want me to generate a map?

Alysuil Elf Adventurer

Satisfied that her spear is clean and ready to use, she looks down the corridor. Shall we carry on where we left off?

Hrothgar the Dwarf

Hrothgar will take a quick look at the chain mail to see if it might be serviceable (i.e. not completely pitted with rust or rent with holes).
DM: "Black Dougal gasps 'Poison!' and falls to the floor. He looks dead."
Fredrik: "I'm grabbing his pack to carry treasure in."
