Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
How about a single wall then 4 feet high, 2 feet wide and 2 feet thick?
Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
What's the plan? The wall of force is a couple of minutes away from dropping...

Well I thought it was the wall or pillar type blockade next...

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
I vote pillars, thinking we can get past it if it cant move at all.
Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
If Quinn can he will cast stone shape, creating 2 pillars 4 feet high, 1 feet wide and 2 feet thick. One in front and one behind to stop it from moving forward or back. If that is not an option he will put up a single wall to stop it from rolling (4' x 2' x 2').
OOC: Not sure if I can split up the shape or not.

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Presumably you just 'shape' the bit underneath but keep it the same shape
Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Odilo's force wall nears its expiration. Quinn takes a bit of mistletoe from his sack and kneels down just in front of the stopped juggernaut. The bard shapes the very stone of the tomb into a short, stout wall blocking the giant stone elephant's way.
The wall of force dissipates. The juggernaut starts rolling forward, hits the stone barrier, and stops.
You climb over and around the juggernaut to see what lies beyond. All you see is an empty 20x20 room.
After another half an hour, Bagrin and Skarlos finally wake from their slumber.
What now?

Odilo "Are we going to just leave the thing trapped or do we intend to try and kill it?"

The Dwarf takes a peek around the juggernaut, wondering if a certain piece or two of masonry dislodged might prevent the trap from re-setting.

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Bagrin yawns awake. "That's a nice toy. Kill it, you say? Is it even alive? Looks like some machination or other." Bagrin will attempt to climb up to the back of the juggernaut, looking for anything unusual that might indicate a secret of some value.
Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Quinn searches the room for secret doors. If he doesn't find any he will begin working backwards, searching each of the hallways until he has reached the last secret door the party passed through.
Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Skarlos stretches as he wakes. Pulls the rag out of his mouth...
"What the ...? I had a strnge dream bout being dragged around. Ah well glad to see I m in one piece!"
He inspects the ellie from afar. He calls to the others:
"How can you be sure it can't roll back and get you? You should keep an eye on it!"

McCloud will help search the room for secret doors and hidden floor traps, hoping a keen elvish eye may spot the portals.

Odilo will remain out of the way for now watching the strange creature in case it figures out a way to back up.

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
With the juggernaut stopped by Quinn's stone barrier and everyone awake from their little naps, you investigate the juggernaut and discuss your next move.
Odilo wants to kill the giant stone thing. Bagrin wonders if it's even alive. "Looks like some machination or other," he says. The gnome climbs up the back of the juggernaut, looking for anything unusual that might indicate a secret of some value. Alas, it appears to be a simple machine of solid stone, now inert.
Skarlos stretches as he wakes, then gets his first look at the juggernaut. "How can you be sure it can't roll back and get you?" he calls to the others. "You should keep an eye on it!"
Quinn and McCloud methodically search for secret doors. They find nothing in the 20x20 room. They continue into the hallways. For over an hour, they carefully scrutinize every inch of wall and floor. At the south end of the hall, where you entered, they find something: a hidden trap door in the floor.

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Odilo looks to the gnome "My you look like a king upon that thing. Do you wish to get down off that so we can see what the others are doing?"

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
The Dwarf has a good chuckle that the Gnome is currently the tallest party member. Easily amused.
Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Quinn calls to the others and points out the trapdoor.
After checking it for traps, he opens it and sees where it leads.

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Bagrin grins and performs a little caper atop the stone juggernaut. "Yes, king for the day, with an elephant as my royal steed!" But then he too notices the absence of some others and goes to find out what secret they have discovered.
At sight of the trapdoor, he says, "Might have known we'd be going down and not up. This place is plumb full of secrets and ways to die. Need a hand, Quinn?" And the gnome does what he can to aid Quinn with checking for dangers and opening the trapdoor without killing anyone.

Re: Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb
Urdak, easily amused, laughs at the little gnome dancing high atop the juggernaut. But when Bagrin notices that the others are gone, he climbs down to see where they went.
He rejoins the rest of the party to find Quinn checking the trap door for, well, traps. Finding none, Quinn and Bagrin lift the circular panel in the stone floor. It opens to reveal a steep flight of narrow stairs that spiral down to a 5'-wide passageway. The passage emerges into a 10' hallway. At the east end of this hallway stands a gleaming metal door set in a gleaming metal frame. There are three slots in the door at about waist height (eye level for Bagrin and Urdak). The slots are about 9" tall, diamond-shaped, and perhaps a couple of inches across at their widest point.
