Seeing the others are handling the doors, Vorkath pokes around the scribes desk for anything missed in his hasty and hot sweep from before.

Robert "Yes Iluq I imagine most of the burnt thins will do little to help." after blocking the door with Iluq Robert goes to open the door in the back of the scribes chamber just a crack to peer through to see if he can see anything.

As Iluq and Agrippo move the heavy desk to block the west door (dragging the charred remains of the accountant along with it), Robert searches the room. He finds about 1000 gold pieces, 500 platinum pieces, and thousands upon thousands of copper pieces scattered about the room under the charred remains of the accountant’s papers and books.

"I wonder how many copper pieces there are," says Ireena. "I bet the accountant's books would tell us. Oh, right, someone burned them."

Vorkath pokes around the relocated desk, but finds nothing else of interest.

Robert opens the door in the east wall. It leads to a spiral stairway lit by fluttering torches in iron sconces. A chilly wind wushes down the circling stairway, seeming to kill the very heat of the torches. Stairs lead down in front of you and up to your right.

Robert "Hmm that is a lot of money. But can we even carry that much back with us if we ever get out of this place? On another note there is a stair over here that leads down friends."

Iluq looks around the room, "While we are here to vanquish evil I don't see the merit of stealing, but if that is what everyone wishes to do then we can begin at least getting the coins in a singular place, coming back to them once our mission is done." He shivers as the cold air rushes over him, "I have been down in the depths of the world, it never gets better... only worse."

To clarify: the spiral staircase leads both up and down.

Robert "Begging my pardon I did not look up yet the stairs got both directions up and down. What direction are we wanting to go up or down?"

Vorkath bites his tongue and ignores Ireena.

"I recall the scribe saying there may be a library or study up the stairs. You recall we were told there may be Strahd's journal in a library."

Robert "Well then up we shall go." Robert says then he goes out the door and starts to look up the stairs before they begin to go upwards.

Iluq follows the group, going up the stairs, his hammers at the ready for any type of ambush.

Agrippo will force his way to the top of the flight of steps going up, not wanting the others to be hit again by undead. "Any idea what this diary will look like?" Perhaps also a castle guide, maybe some ancient dwarf builders long lost tome, "

Ropbert shrugs "I have no idea. Why yes pardon you mr pushy. You may certainly lead."

Agrippo leads the way up the stairs. After climbing for 40 feet, you reach another landing with a door set in the west wall. The spiral staircase continues up past it.

Robert "A thought just hit me. I hope this does not have another door that leads to the same level as the wraiths. We should be careful when opening any of the upper level doors. Tumble my friend do you wish to test your skills upon the door?"

"The chapel lies east, while this door faces west, so hopefully we will be free of wraiths," says the paladin, consulting the rough map he's been chalking on the inside of his shield. With the Spartan up front, Vorkath will guard the back.

Robert "Alright I'll trust your judgement." between his sentences Robert mutters under his breath "This time." as he is sure some of the others are thinking after the odd behaviors of the paladin as of late "So shall we enter then or would you like Tumbler to check for traps? Or are we to just try the door and head in?"

[Stirling]

"No I've a feeling we should press on upwards, lets get that birds eye view of the place." Agrippo is happy to carry on further upwards expecting to find himself in some magely penthouse suite or tower viewing platform.

Robert not wasting anytime begins to keep going upwards following Agrippo and does not begin to argue.
