Music section, character/enemy group themes

#1 Post by Rukellian »

I am playing around with the idea of incorporating music into action sequences and character introductions. Super heroes become even more super with awesome theme songs and the same can be said about villians. I figure, if someone has a cool theme song that they would like to attach to their character, feel free to post it here and play it when they do something awesome! If the idea goes well, I will post music unique to each villian group that the players face, to better set the tone of the battle and perhaps get everyone pumped when they roll their virtual dice and plan their actions.

Here are some examples of music I might use, the varieties and genres are endless, but my favorites may become obvious as we go.

Permafrost's theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpU0FoPsaes

Robotic Mastermind theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMOGKUM1cYQ

A hero gone rogue that needs to be put down: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8liPdLa0yc

The tide is turning, your group is winning!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl_ndy61ON4

What say you guys on this proposal?

I don't know if this is his theme, but I'm pretty sure this is Professor Perryton's ringtone.

I like the idea, sounds like fun!

Unfortunately I am at a bit of a loss on what Ravens theme would be, since he is still trying to figure out who he is and all that and I can't seem to think of a good song for that.

As am I at the moment. His origins are of the most mysterious of the group currently. He has black, raven like wings, so maybe a song reflecting his first moments of flight? Considering where he woke up at, his origins are dark to say the least, I will leave it up to you as to how your character's personality will shine through when you recover bits and pieces of his memory, but right now, his lack of memory may cause him to act out of anger and take on a more darker hero archetype. Your thoughts on this?

I think that's a fun idea, and I'd love it.

The only caveat is that sometimes there are copyright issues--I can't play the Wu Tang song, for example, because they haven't released it to play in Canada. Sucks for me.

When I Created the character I had somewhat of a dark hero in mind but I kept it vague in case I wanted to go with the innocent hero type, like a villian that lost his memory and now he chooses good over evil. That way if this campaign goes for a while I could be a possible bad guy for giggles. But I do like a dark hero type of thing, like Rorschach from the watchmen, taking out the garbage any way possible because no one else will. Of course we have just started and I don't like to railroad my own character, I will play as him and depending on what you and everyone else put me through I'll change to the situation 8-)

For the moment I think I have found my characters theme song, going off of his background it is possible this could change, depending on what happens.

I'd say this is likely Hot Streak's theme song or "favorite" song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb4Q-2TueEM

This is Atlas City's theme song. I thought it very appropriate considering that it is home to many super heroes and villians like in my fictional world.

The villian theme for Atlas City, the industrial, dark, dirty part of the city...

Here is Vorpal's current theme. This is the music that plays in his head when he beats a super hero senseless, or just goes on a rampage.

The song is explicit, just as a forewarning, but hilarious to some!
