25. Northeast Passage (Epsilon only!)

Epsilon moves at his full speed (which is actually pretty slow), for about 20-30 feet until the passage turns due east. As he peers around the corner, another side passage branches off to the northeast after 20 feet, but just beyond this side passage Epsilon happens to notice the familiar faces of Grimnail and Gwillt side-by-side in the passageway. Only, they're not moving. The cleric quickly realizes what he's discovered is actually their dismembered heads mounted to javelins stuck into the ground "blocking" this eastern passage. Just beyond the heads of your former companions is a single large troglodyte. It flashes its teeth at the cleric and simply stares menacingly.

Epsilon tosses his pack at the menancing creature and, doubling his movement rate, darts for the northeast passage, beating the creature. He's presented with another 'Y' intersection, each branch opening into wider corridors; the western passage angles to the northwest while the eastern passage seems to continue straight north.

Despite the lessened load, the creature is still faster than the cleric and will almost certainly be atop of him in little time.

Without slowing, Epsilon takes the northwest passage and, just as he reaches a bend in the passage back towards the northeast, the stabbing pain of a javelin tip piercing his back (-8) is overwhelming.

And, with that, he troglodyte chieftain claims another head to add to his collection.
