Logistics

#1 Post by drpete »

track logistics here:
consumables, encumbrance/movement, wounds/poisons/disease, companionship, scurvy...

For now, I'd appreciate it if you could work out your encumbrance and movement rates, with and without mounts, and list food and light sources. Everybody on the boat has gone 3 weeks eating iron rations and without companionship (except possibly Damiane and Ludwig... Are they a couple?) And let me know if Tartok and Heraclides are "chaste".

The current date is the 22nd day of the Crocodile (march 22). Also known as the 1st of Meadowlark in the City State calendar. In this area, they will use a calendar that has months like ours with different names (crocodile instead of march). The other calendar has 20 day months. Most people are confused about how they fit together, so assume any confusion about the date is IC. It's early spring.

1 day of water for each horse

Personal Encumbrance: 8 5/6 stone (6 4/6 stone w/o pack)
Personal Movement: 90' (120' w/o pack)
Pack Horses Encumbrance: 38 2/6 stone (19 1/6 stone each)

Last Edit Reason: Changed Lucius' weight down to standard 15 stone. Added camp basics and shovel to inventory.

From the viewpoint of Damiane certainly no! Though gaining his loyalty is a top priority for her at the moment so she considers certain favours a good investment.

Lol, yeah... Crocodile is the month (aka March).

You're welcome to figure out a weight for yourself and divide by 10, or we can just go with 15 stone per person, plus their personal encumbrance. The logistics are admittedly somewhat complicated, but I'm hoping the various pressures will make for an interesting, different element to the game.

I'll be tossing in some consideration of things like being cold and wet, and needing a fire or shelter once it becomes an issue. I was watching reality survival shows set in Alaska, and a movie called "the way back" about hiking out of Siberia that looked... Well, fun isn't the right word :)

Minos Torak, fighter

Consumables:
14 days iron rations

Encumbrance: 10 stone
Movement rate: 60 ft/turn
Horse encumbrance: 9 (draft) 10+17=27 (riding)
Riding movement: 180'

Last fresh food: 1 Crocodile
Last companionship: 1 Crocodile (been a while)

How heavy is my character, besides the 10 stones of equipment he's carrying?

Edit: updated with Minos' weight (I rated it at 17 because I described him as a real colossus, hope it makes sense)

On the Autarch board Alex posted once that he assumed 15 Stones if I recall correctly.

Yeah, you can just assume 15 stone for character weight unless you have a strong desire to get into things in more detail.

Do I have to calculate the encumbrance and consumables also for the mercenaries?

Let's abstract "camping and grooming" gear to 1 stone for everyone... This includes mess kit, shovel, trowel, twine, choking pots, etc. You have all the basics, with some gear being shared, like cook pots or shovels or hatchets, etc. If you all take that, anything you might want that is useful for those types of situations, somebody has. That's not tents and blankets, but gear to do camp related stuff.

The mercenaries, without food and water, clock in at 10 stone, a bit over 8 of which is weapons and armor. Call it 25 on the horse before food and water. Like other people, they need fresh food and companionship to stay healthy and happy. They are devoted, though, and could go a lot longer before they started to get really grumpy. They have been on a boat for 3 weeks, though, so they'd appreciate some r&r in town before you head into the wilderness.

Shaker,

Something doesn't look right with your encumbrance. You got the 8 man tent, which has an encumbrance of 15 stone, the water skin and each week of food is 1 stone. Good thing you have a pack horse.

Nope, it's a regular 2 men tent. Looking back, I can see I paid 20 gp for it, because that was the price listed in the corebook.

If you agree, let's say it's a fancy, good quality tent, maybe with a larger blanket (in case Minos sleeps with an additional character)
