Ok, so are you planning to head out? Does everyone have a horse? Should you all, or will you travel at walking speed of the slowest member? Do you want rations, or tents, or any other equipment?

Zaid buys a tent. He's already got a horse and rations. He has no opinion on walking versus riding other than the difficulty in spotting anything unusual from horseback unless it's obvious.

I think everyone has horses now. Damiane and company uses medium horses for the most part and Damiane herself has a light one.

I still need two tents so Damiane gets a nice large one with some luxury additions like a clothing chest and furs for the ground and bed for 50 GP while Ludwig gets a small rugged one with some furs for 10 GP

Lucius has a medium horse for riding and a pair of medium draft horses as pack animals.

I've updated the player's map to incorporate Phoebe's knowledge of the local area. Her village is there, as are a few others. She also knows that the forest continues for a long way to the west, and the village with orc troubles (Norgood) is about 100 miles north of Blackspell.

Will we hire the Mercs?
I think it would be a good idea if Minos would take the remaining Mercs.

Does the Survival proficiency's auto-forage for yourself stack with the foraging for others? I assumed it didn't because of the phrase under the Survival proficiency: "If he is trying to supply more than one person, he must make a proficiency throw...". I.e. Lucius can automatically get 1 man-day of food or can try the proficiency roll (w/ +4, so 14+ instead of 18+) to get 1d6 man-days of food.

I'll say success on that roll tells you how many extra people you can feed, so if you roll a one, you feed yourself plus one person, rather than just yourself...

So... In terms of trying to accomplish things, it might be useful for someone to act as a "caller" in this situation, to say which way the group will go. Everyone right now seems to be waiting for someone else to say "we go east/west/north/south"... :)

I'm thinking its time to just start heading for the tomb. Roll for random encounters or whatever. I would really hate to see a game die because we got bogged down over what travel type to use.

Ok, so I guess there was no interest in horses or mercenaries, then.

Looking at the map, I guess you guys would want to start out going ... west? The tomb isn't actually on the map (or located yet). It might be useful to decide what to aim for... Hug the coast, or make for Ninti, or Kalastar, or the Greatflood River?

Well, if we go towards Ninti we might as well visit leechfields for some horses and get the one from that halfling merchant.

To give you a sense of scale, its about a week's walk to the Leechfields, or 2 weeks to Ninti, for plate mail wearing walkers. Ninti is the Amazon village where Phoebe is from. She knows they are not friendly to men, generally, but would not give her a hard time. Hillcrest is south of the Irminsul forest, and in that direction is Viridistan, the City State of the World Emperor. The forest extends far to the west, and in addition to elves, there are a lot of humanoids there, including goblins, orcs, ape men, cave men, etc. Damkina lies to the north west, along the river system that starts with the Greatflood River.

Okay, I took some money and turned it into 8 medium horses. They can easily carry two people each if need be although it would be less than comfortable.

Ok, lets speed things up! Everyone has a horse now (We get the one from Spengo for Heraclides if there is still one missing) and we march upriver using a road or just staying near the coast.
