Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Malibran retreats with an eye over his shoulder as best he can to confirm the rocks bury the lair of the lich.
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Worren follows the others as fast as his feet will carry him.
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
You run out of the room and up the stairs while dodging large chunks of rock falling from the ceiling. You just make it up the stairs into the east-west passage before the room completely collapses, sending dust billowing up behind you.
Bits of stone start to fall in the passage ahead...

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Coughing from the dust of the fallen rock, Malibran suggests "That seemed too easy to be the legendary demi-lich that has had the cruel intent to design such a foul, mischievous and trick-some place as this. To have such a seemingly powerful weapon literally at our feet...to defeat the devil with a few well placed blows? I have battled lesser undead beasts in the past that where resilient to my prayers and blow upon blow of my companions..... I'm not sure what steps to take next, but i carry an uneasy heart..."

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Eduardo vaguely registers Malibran beginning some sort of speech as he continues hurrying down the hallway back the way they came. He slows enough to navigate the pew bridges safely, but moves as quickly as he can, not being interested in being flattened by falling stone. It occurs to him that he's gained little treasure on this excursion, but having (somewhat single-handedly, to his mind) vanquished a terrible undead makes up for it a bit. Still, that did seem pretty easy. The lich never even got a spell off... He pauses for a moment to see if the others are following, or if anyone needs help...

Elsa, fighter
"Aye, I expected more from Acererak," says Elsa continuing to jog with the others back the way they came. "We need the lich's skull to break the curse on Overking Ivid. I fear we must continue the search."
"Can one of you clerics seek guidance from your god with a divination spell, and determine if Acererak remains present in the tomb?"

Worren
"Alas, I did not prepare any spells of divination for this exploration. I sought to prepare spells of offense and healing."

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
As you continue to flee the collapsing tomb, some of you begin to express doubts about your apparent victory over Acererak. "That seemed too easy to be the legendary demi-lich," says Malibran. "To have such a seemingly powerful weapon literally at our feet...to defeat the devil with a few well placed blows?"
The lich never even got a spell off, thinks Eduardo.
"Aye, I expected more from Acererak," says Elsa as she continues to jog with the others back the way they came.
Eduardo suggests divine guidance, but Worren explains that he prepared spells of offense and healing, not divination.
You safely reach the chapel. The mist-filled archway beckons. Might it be a faster way out? You hear rumbling from the crawlway to the north, warning that it may close at any moment...

Malibran backs away from the tunnel but hesitates before moving through any mist - thinking what happened just a short while ago with another mist....
"I too have not prayed for any guidance, but perhaps with some rest I could indeed implore the Light for some information on the current fate of the devil we may have yet to encounter"

Elsa the Fair pauses in the chapel, thinking that the crawlway is a tough spot to be caved-in upon.Zhym wrote:...You safely reach the chapel. The mist-filled archway beckons. Might it be a faster way out? You hear rumbling from the crawlway to the north, warning that it may close at any moment...
"We must have magic among us to get through the crawlway after it collapses," says the fighter to the others. "Or to otherwise protect us?"
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
"I can cast pass wall my friends",says Abrex. I believe I can arrange it to get us where we need to be. That fight seemed odd to say the least. Let us rest first and meditate on our spells so that we may better prepare ourselves, or better yet let's rest after I cast my spell so I can regain the spell after we rest.

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Malibran agrees with a slight rest to enable some time to pray to the Light. Finding a quiet area to focus on his thoughts and prayers, he'll beseech forgiveness for communicating in such an evil and foul place but ask for respite in that the quest is to root out a great and ancient evil.
He'll pray also for the same spells he had except replacing a raise dead with commune.

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Like the other spellcasters, Worren agrees that a rest may be prudent. "I have means to get us through as well, but I am concerned that there may be wards to keep interlopers from bypassing the traps."
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
As you pause in the chapel, you hear another rumble and bits of ceiling start to fall on you. A cloud of grey dust puffs out of the crawlway to the north.
Talk of resting here may be premature, it seems. Except, of course, for permanent sort of rest...
Please roll a d20, everyone.

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Catching his breath and worried that everything seems wrong....from the easy dispatching of the Lich; to the cave-in; Xale is deep in thought and therefore seems to miss the fact that the ceiling seems to be caving-in here as well....
1d20 roll: [1d20] = 19
Well.....that's either REALLY good or REALLY bad!
