Funny that you mention it, you guys, at least in part, may be making an appearance soon. ;)

Things aren't looking too good for the temporarily-living.

With a lucky roll, that colour spray might be a game changer, if most of the trogs coming from the east are just 2nd level... 1-6 of them would be unconscious for 2-4 rounds.

Might just be delaying the inevitable, though...

My dead character is living a lie. :( Or... he's dying a lie? He died a lie? He is unliving a lie?

(I like the last one the best...)

There is really no update for this thread, but I must keep up appearances.

:) I haven't been watching the other characters thread in case DMW brings us back sometime this year. :)

You mean brings back Gwillt and Grimm?

I don't want Gwillt back. He's dead. To bring him back would not be within the spirit of the game. Dead is dead. If you don't have the fear of character loss/death when you play, then that highly detracts from the game. It does to my game, anyway...

If this doesn't end in a TPK, and he wants to continue with Foxmoor and allows us to roll up new characters, I don't think we'd be brought into the game in the tunnels, so... I think we're good with reading the thread.

Not bringing our dead back. But new characters. Silly. ;)

I can assure you, both Grim and Gwillt are significantly dead. They've actually become trophies for the troglodytes and the remaining groups (now merged into a single group) may learn of this fact relatively soon.

I can also share this. A couple of things, actually.

(1) No new characters will be built using the existing character creation rules. I'm not happy with how they were created with 1E in mind and that is not the type of game I'm running. Close, maybe, but I don't want for there to be any confusion.
(2) The remaining characters are in a bit of a "situation." If -- and it is still very much an "if" -- things go badly and it results in a TPK, I am thinking that I will retire this game completely.

I will likely take some time to develop a new game, but Foxmoor will most likely cease to exist.

Lots of activity on the other thread. Not much going on here, unfortunately. Mostly decomposition... or digestion.

Alas, poor Strom!
I knew him, Ewell!
A fellow of infinite bad luck,
Of most excellent hair.
He hath borne me on his back
A thousand times er... once;
And now, how abhorred
In my imagination it is!

Not every DM is out to kill the players in their game.

Sure, you wouldn't find me in a game with a DM like that...

Eh, it was a good experiment. An entire trog camp. Wonder if Level 5s would have made it much farther...I think organization might have made a difference but there were A LOT of bad rolls...

Better rolls would have helped, but a few more AOE spells would have been helpful, as well, and 5th level casters (druid or MU) might have had those. Nuke's character, the druid/mu, was very potent in that respect.

Of course, when they're all lined up like THAT, what you really want is a wand of lightening. ;)
