Strategy Thread

A thread for where you guys can talk about group formations, marching order, battle strategies, ect.
Even a child that receives one bit of praise has the ability to excel in a single talent, and those who receive regular encouragement can feel confidence, achieve success, and become leading members of society. Because they don’t believe they are worthless, they don’t need to raise a fist and have vengeance against fate or the world at large… ~Inspector Lunge

A guarded wall and gate... This will be more difficult. Ideas? Draw them out with a ruse, then charge in? Come at them from a different direction? Wait till night then scale the walls, but no night

I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper.
I fart in your general direction.

Perhaps our "would -be thieves " could say they are new recruits and beg entrance. When the gates open...we rush into certain doom?

How about telling them we got so much food we were sent to get help hauling it, and then ambush em?

It will take a bit for me to read through my emails today, so didn't want to rush a suggestion. Whitsell will go along with whatever the rest want to do with these thieves.

All is quiet now as the group starts to rearrange themselves back into a marching order. Amberlynn, waiting patiently in the background, is relieved that no one got hurt yet, especially Flynn. Captain Hal approaches Deceidon as he cleans off his blade. "So... what is our next course of action? Shall we storm the gates of the bandit camp now? I doubt that we can pull off another ambush in the tunnel, they aren't THAT stupid those bandits..."
Ideas? Pose as bandits bringing the food in, get inside, fight?

I was hoping we could get into the mountain some stealthier way while the soldiers fight for us. I assume the entrance in is behind the wall?

Definitely not according to plan. Dressing like bandits didn't help before, but they CAN'T know what they ALL look like. I think If we're all dressed up carrying food we should at least get in the gates...?
Access to a fireball spell would come in handy If the gates don't open.
Maybe charming one of the tower guards?

Yeah. If we get inside then our plan could go back on track. The soldiers fight while we run off...

Should we rush the gates. ALL of us including soldiers make a mad dash?

30 bandits with more behind or on top of the wall seems a losing proposition. :o no magic, no sneaking in under dark   perhaps a withdraw? Try climbing over the mountain from the other side into the fort, or maybe stumble into the temple while exploring?

All 30 of those bandits, if it helps ease your mind, are level 0s. Because of this, each fighter type on the team, or half-fighter as it were, can attack a number of times according to their fighter level. With a force of mostly fighters, your group would be able to churn out at least two attacks per person, or almost everyone.

Whitsell looks at the damage and the situation...

Fellows, just ask them to surrender. They should easily see we are better forces than they. If they don't, then we should have little trouble with 30, or 30 more.

Flynn is cool with cowardly retreat If we are routed, but we're kicking ass. The only problem is If the gates close!

The tunnels inside the mountain, as you will soon find out, is wide enough for two people to stand side by side comfortably. This will not always be the case when traversing the mountain, so here are the two proposed marching orders:

Flynn, Gustov, Amberlynn, Deceidon creating a straight line

Flynn, Gustov and Amberlynn side by side, and Deceidon creating a diamond formation

Will this be acceptable?

Also, it would be in your guys' best interest to start keeping a map of your own as you navigate the dungeon, lots of twists and turns to come and you could easily get lost if your not paying attention ;) I will provide map sections as I go, but they will not be as complete as the one's from before, to reflect the amount of area you can see as a dungeon diver.
