"Should we rest here, our backs to the dragon and nowhere to run? Or push forward, hope nothing attacks us in the dark, with our fingers crossed that we'll be able to rest when we reach the other side?"

"It might be small and half-starved but I think we should take the bird in this bush rather than hope there are two big fat ones sat on a branch out there somewhere".

"Thankfully I am not afraid of the dark. We need to at least determine if there is another light out there. I think it best to move forward, but having options is good and we can decide what to do once we know."

She covers her light stone.

Moving away from the portal and dousing their light sources does indeed work similar to the other areas some of the group have been before.

A tiny speck of white light can be seen well off in the distance once your eyes have adjusted to the darkness again.

"I'm fine with going that way... Well, we actually don't have any other option. But, shouldn't we rest before we venture out to another place? We don't know what's waiting out there." Says the cleric of Ehlenestra, echoing Wes' concerns.

"I am fine resting, I just don't think doing it right in front of the portal with an angry dragon outside it is a good location. Maybe halfway to the other light?"

The cleric agrees. Yes, let's find a place a little farther into the void, then rest.

"Right. Let's travel a couple of hundred feet towards the new light. We'll stop and camp then. Close enough to the known exit if something is in here, and far enough away if something else comes in."

She looks around at the others in the dim light. "Sound good?"

The party move deeper into the Dark Ether, setting up a spot to rest.

Nothing is seen, heard, or smelled as they move or when they stop. The Dark Ether is a steril, dark environment with nothing but blackness in every direction.

It will be a strange place to rest and keep watch, but at least it's quiet so far.

"Six of us, three watches? I'll take the third, good night." She settles in, creating a ring of bedrolls as opposed to scattered. "Good work out there, by the way. I really thought we would lose the rest of you at some point."

Watches are set, and rest is taken, though nobody really understands exactly how long they have been inside here.

Once everyone is feeling a little better, and awakened from their sleep, spells and prayers can be replenished. (+1 hit point recovered each for resting uncomfortably)

There isn't a sound inside the Dark Ether the entire time you are resting, however long that was. The darkness starts to feel oppressive after a while, but no other threats present themselves during the downtime.

“Can be replenished” indicates that you actually need to state you are doing so. (for the rare case of spell reversals etc.)
