A proscribed group of sword-world women who perform various thefts and acts of wanton destruction aimed, primarily, at artifacts left by the Ancients.

They have attacked a number of archaeological sites and university research departments and have assassinated both Sword Worlds and Imperial investigators.

They cite the Maghiz as the reason for their actions.

This group act as agents for the Travellers' Aid Society, but don't provide accommodation.

Residents may join for Cr250 per month, non-residents for Cr500 per month. A daily fee of Cr100 is payable for visiting members.

There is a good bar and restaurant open to members only (strictly enforced; no guests).

This is a producer of cheap goods throughout the Imperium. It much prefers to have low input costs, no competition and little outside regulation. It has a legal team whose sole role is to generate income from confiscation of the benefits accrued by those seeking to compete in its supply chain or markets. It enslaves its workers, captures local governments and backs up its operations with its own clandestine troops, assassins and navy that it denies even exist.

Its marketing group lies, cheats and wholly miss-represents its economic and ecological credentials. Its manufacturing group strips worlds and poisons atmospheres, seas and oceans. Its legal group is a misnomer. Its words do not match its actions except for one thing - "You get what you pay for".

LSP is known to have major, nearby operations on Bowman and Squallia, Enos, Ucella, Karin, Iderati and Glisten(Shipyard).

A subsector sized corporation that is specialising in mineral discovery and smelting. It has grown to the point where the Mega-Corporations are interested in the corporation as a potential threat.

It has a good reputation (by comparison to its competitors), and actively trades on that white-knight sentiment to cling on to its niche in what is, generally, a nasty universe.

In Koenig's rock, it maintains a small office that seeks to advance the corporations activities through a coordinating role amongst the independent belters.

A research company supposedly involved in the archaeological dig at Epsilon, but dismissed by the IISS after just one month for unprofessional conduct.

The company promptly declared bankruptcy and the owners then vanished.

It has taken the owners of the equipment some years to recover any assets because of the location of their goods and the multiple bills of sale issued on the leased items.

This is a scientific sorority/society for Aslan living within or near the border of the Imperium and outside the Aslan Heirate. Membership is by invitation only.

The society works with various institutions and supports a small number of laboratories directly or in partnership with those institutions. It is notable that it never works with the IISS directly after a falling out over information sharing - the IISS having invoked Imperial Espionage law over the distribution of the results of one particular project.

Bursaries can be sought by members, and non-members may be able to gain use of equipment if the society has no specific use for it at the time.

The society is also known as the 422 society (or Hryeh-Alr-Alr) after the octal coding read into the name's letters. (E=1, A=0)

The most prestigious place of learning on Karin - and one to which access is severely limited because of the political situation on the planet.

The University is not held in the highest esteem on-planet, despite the budget allocated by the Imperial Navy towards its upkeep, because of the political interference exercised regarding its intake.

The University has a notable research program in support of the Imperial Naval and Scout Services and has sought to ameliorate its image by diversifying its programs in cooperation with less controversial institutions. This image make-over has not really led to any great change in the perception of the campus.

Children from the Imperial Service Orphanages on Karin gain automatic scholarships should they be accepted.

A Security Cooperative based on Koenig's Rock

Boronu Vipach and Aapu Debica were sitting in a bar on Koenig's Rock after finishing Military Service and, in a fit of drunken enlightenment decided to put together a security outfit to protect visitors to the rock from themselves, and to protect the residents from the visitors and each other.

The organisation struggled for some years in the face of local opposition from the Koenig's Rock Protective Association, but found acceptance in the late 1090's and expanded in the early 1100s.

Offers for the company from LSP in 1104 were rebuffed and the two companies have been at odds ever since.

It now has 18 members and a number of others called in for specific tasks. It specifically does NOT deal in Ship or Port security - an area that the Kornig's Rock Protection Association monopolise.

This is a multi-subsector manufacturing company based in Strend (TR0505). Bowman is it's furthest reach towards the imperium in district 268. The office at Koenig's Rock has been colonised by a local offshoot of the DeLambre family - who have invested in the rock for many decades and gained acceptance as residents.

DeLambre Frere operates the largest spacecraft based in the system - affectionately known as the "Heffalump". It is 1000dTons and capable of 2-G. It is available for hire as a pusher-tug or bulk/oversize-cargo hauler on a per-delivery basis only.
The "Heffalump" used to be an interstellar trader, but it's jump-drive broke-down in system and was so the ship was re-purposed rather than repaired. It's official name is the "DeLambre Supergéante".

There is a Scout Base at Garrison on Bowman Prima Alpha. It has the following departments:-

Approximately 2000 years ago, the Darrian People established a high-tech colony on Epsilon. It was abandoned, in some haste, after the Maghiz.

The dig has uncovered a number of incredible items, and evidence is being found that there were other settled locations on Epsilon beyond the main site. The project is complicated by local independent prospectors
