Re: General OOC
Awesome! I’ll dust off the last bits of prep and we should be going in a week or so.
Let’s see… a fighter, a thief, a priest, and a bard walk into a bar… am I doing it right??

Re: General OOC
I will be headed in for surgery in a couple hours here today, so I will be away from the board for a while. Not sure how long it will take before I’m feeling up to posting regularly again, but I shall return.
Looking forward to seeing how this one goes.

Re: General OOC
Thanks Ben!
I was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Luckily there were no major complications, so those Nat 20’s must have helped.
Still a bit groggy from the pain meds, but ready to see how this game plays out.
I appreciate everyone’s patience!

Re: General OOC
Alrighty, the first post is up in the in-character thread below:
https://www.unseenservant.us/forum/view ... hp?t=12821
As mentioned, I'll resolve actions or otherwise move things ahead Thursdays and Mondays, but I can of course answer questions and provide more information as needed in between those resolutions.

Re: General OOC
Just as a note on current light sources:
Squish: 1 torch
Naugrim: 2 torches
Margush: lantern & 4 flasks of oil.
12 gear slots available between characters.
This is really a note to myself ready for the shopping trip.

Re: General OOC
Maybe boost our torch and oil supply but not add another lantern?
What about holy water?

Re: General OOC
Ya, we should definitely get more oil.
Re: General OOC
Yup more oil and torches, they both only burn for an hour each.
Is holy water available? I couldn't see it on the equipment list. It might be worth getting some if it's available and affordable. I wonder if this place has any temples.
I think we'll be borrowing money from squish.

Re: General OOC
I planned on Squish spending his money on supplies. That was why I picked him to run. Seems oil should last longer than a torch but it is dual use.

Re: General OOC
There is indeed a temple, as well as a few other services. I've put the details in the IC post. (Apologies I only got to it this morning!)shaidar wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 9:53 am Yup more oil and torches, they both only burn for an hour each.

As a side note, I'll usually rely on the Basic Fantasy RPG Equipment Emporium supplement for item costs that are not listed in Shadowdark, including, for example, the costs of your rooms at the inn. The EE is available for free download here:

Re: General OOC
Apologies again that I've been getting the updates out a little later than intended... bedtime for my toddler has been a bit hectic of late, so the morning coffee break has become a more effective time for roleplaying!

Re: General OOC
Well, I think I shall have to officially switch my resolution times to Tuesday and Friday mornings, since I'm failing horribly to get this done at night!
It seems the group is finished in town, so let me know how you'd like to set out. In some ways, it's obvious, but I prefer not to interpolate very far as don't like to force the party anywhere... but if that doesn't work well in a PBP format, I can switch it up.

Re: General OOC
Hey all. I’m very sorry for missing the last couple of resolutions. I hate to say this but I’ve realized I just don’t have the stamina to be a PbP GM. I’m so sorry to bail on you after we’ve barely scratched the surface, but if I hung on I would just be delaying the inevitable. You’re all wonderful players and this is a great community… sorry to be a big turd!
Re: General OOC
Sorry to hear that Ben, but thanks for giving it a try.
Re: General OOC
No problems, I understand. I appreciate you giving it a try.
Will you be sticking around to play a game?
