The local town knew I was fair from my actions in the military and thy asked me to settle a dispute, ends up becoming the town judge. 2 and a half years later His wife dies from Cholera. He became distraught and sold his house and left and meandered around. Finally straightened up and ended up in San Marco Texas looking for a job.

Paladin

Image

Sheet
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1daagAN ... sp=sharing
PDF form text takes a moment to populate. All labeled chargen rolls searchable in Roller archive.

Notes:
- Stature: +1(rustler wrangling), +4 (shooting derby)
- In post #97 of Paladin - Have Gun Will Travel, Paladin set to memory the appearance of Wanted Criminals John Welsey Hardin, Sam Bass, and James Brown Miller (aka Killer Miller and Deacon Jim.)
- In post #97 of Private Thread is a running detailed accounting of monies earned and spent.

Background
Paladin attended West Point and was a former Army officer, but now chose to finance his lifestyle by being a combination go-between, negotiator, and hired gun - a white knight, as it were - for those who needed such assistance. Unlike the more scruffy gunmen of the wild west, Paladin relied on his brains as much as his nerve -- and made his reputation by use of a distinctive business card that featured the symbol of a white chess knight and read, simply, "Have Gun, Will Travel. Wire Paladin, San Francisco."

Paladin preferred to settle problems without violence, yet, when forced to fight, excelled. Paladin lived in the Carlton Hotel in San Francisco, where he dressed in semi-formal wear, ate gourmet food, and attended opera. In fact, many who initially met him mistook him for a dandy from the East. When working, he dressed in black, used calling cards and wore a holster which carried characteristic chess knight emblems, and carried a derringer under his belt. The knight symbol is a reference to his name and his occupation as a champion-for-hire. Paladin drew a parallel between his methods and the chess piece's movement: "It's a chess piece, the most versatile on the board. It can move in eight different directions, over obstacles, and it's always unexpected." He had a knowledge of ancient history and classical literature, and he exhibited a strong passion for legal principles and the rule of law.

Andreas Larson, born 1844 in Suhl, Prussia [ Thuringia, Saxony ] he immigrated to Hill County, Texas, with his family shortly before the Civil War. In his late teens, he worked for the Union in and around Texas during the war.

Down to his last two bucks, he finds himself in a saloon in San Marco.

Preacher John Carry

Born in New England, John was was a charismatic young man with the privlege of going to seminary. His family had come over early, missionaries to the New World on the boat after the Mayflower, and his several greats grandfather was the first Latin teacher in the new world. Methodism was in his blood - after receiving his degrees at Yale he embraced the Revival and vowed to move west, bringing the good word to new lands once again. He has spent the past few years between Texas and Mexico, moving as the Holy Spirit leads to serve the salt of the earth.

He rides Jezebel, a beautiful Arabian mare. She would be a poor horse - slight, flighty, and unwilling to do any honest cowboy work - but suits the Preacher just fine. Besides, she can do any trick he can think to think of. She often plays the comedic counterpoint in his telling of the parables, for which they've developed several routines.

I did Method 1, straight down, and rolled the craziest horse. I love the way it came together. I don't see where the equipment for $50 really is if someone can help. I figure he needs a bible, cross, medical bag, and a double-barrel shotgun. I just added that to the sheet.
