Zan hisses back at the lizard men and two of them point directly at the large muddy hill some of the companions just returned from.

"Looks like we are going in." She says with a grin.

Roan nods his head "Aye, that appears ta be our course."

"Anything else?" He asks Zan before they push on. "Towards that hill, then."

He pauses at the man's words. "Who are you, and why are you here? I'm not saying that your council isn't wise, just I want your story."

"I'll give you the quick version. I am Cozar...I serve the Count of Eor. I was sent here with a detachment of men to gauge the involvement of the lizard men of the Hool and how they serve Sakatha. What we didn't know, is the lizard folk are divided - half serve Sakatha and half serve Aulicus. All of my friends are dead. We confronted Sakatha about his intentions...and then Aulicus attacked! I...am the only survivor."

Seeing Roan beaten and bloodied he moves to the dwarf and casts another healing spell.

It could be wiser to buff out Roan, but Gordansk might put on puppy dog eyes and complain that "he doth bleedeth so much".

"Gods, man! What happened? And to Sai's point, where around here are we able to make camp?" Cassius's excitement at the information causes him to ask overlapping questions.

Cassius "Gods, man! What happened?"

While Sai is healing Roan, Cozar attempts to provide answers for Fahima and Cassius.

"Sakatha...well, is not an ordinary lizard man, or lizard king for that matter. We had heard rumors before we visited. Rumors of ritualistic sacrifices and blood offerings and shit. But...you hear all kinds of things in the military, right? But once we got here, and got inside, we knew those weren't just rumors.
"Sakatha doesn't care much for the Count of Eor, but when we showed up, he was eager to meet with us. And then he revealed his true self. Captain Gord was doing the talking while the rest of us stood around on guard. Sakatha...said something to the Captain...and he just walked right up to the lizard king and dropped to his knees. Sakatha pounced on him like a hungry dog, gnawing at his neck, blood flying everywhere! And then the other lizard men in the room attacked us and we fought like hell to get out. Then...the shit got worse because Aulicus and his minions showed up. Once he arrived, the lizard men loyal to Sakatha stopped worrying about us, for the most part, and went into defense mode to protect their king. I was lucky to make it out."

Roan to Sai "Thanks fer healin me wounds but perhaps heal our Raven Soothsayer." the dwarf scowls at the news about their mission. "Fer cryin out loud I knew something was bad bout this quest. WE shoulda just gone an dealt with the missin kid. We'll be lucky ta make it outta this one alive by tha sounds o' it."

Cozar looks at Roan and then around at the rest of the group.
"Why are you here anyway? Who sent you? It's none of my business, but...well, at first Sakatha seemed glad to see us, as if he was expecting us. But when the Captain said we had come with orders from the Count of Eor...well, things went tits up from there."
Cozar then realizes what he said and that Fahima and Vilana heard him, and blushes crimson. "M-my apologies, ladies," he stammers.

Cassius

His ears perk up at Cozar's words. "Ah. You see!" He turns to Zan. "Sakatha was waiting for us. For you."

"Apologies, friend. It appears your timing was poor. I believe Sakatha knows of our group and is awaiting us. We are expected and you were not."

Cassius turns to the rest of the group. "What do you think? Does that ring true to you?"

"I suspect you are correct Cassius."

To Cozar, "What tribute did you bring him?"

Roan "Mayhaps. But I dunno feels all too convenient if yah ask me. An why so many nobles seekin ta work wit this undead lizardman god king guy anyway eh?" the dwarf voices his thoughts openly.
