Round 3

Both sides have taken hits.

Of the Travellers Terry and Alphonse are down leaving Rando and Dimitri facing off with Mr. Red Shirt and Mr. Red Coat.

The Native Boy is still holding his own against Mr. Blue Shirt and Mr. Hands.

The Vigilantes taking stock of their fallen comrades and the crackling electricity of Dimitri's stun baton decide they've had enough and start running away.

Mr. Red Shirt, Mr. Red Coat, Mr. Hands, Mr. Blue Shirt

Movement: Run away! (double speed no attack)

Dimitri's shock baton clips Mr. Red Coat as re runs by, the man stumbles, jolted, then falls to the ground in a heap.

Movement: Stand - remain at short
Attack: 10 vs Jack Hits - 7 damage to STR

Rando strikes a glancing blow against Mr. Red Shirt but not enough to stop him and he keeps running.

Native Boy attacks Mr. Blue Shirt as he turns his back to run. He connects with a crack of solid wood and the man tumbles and falls in the street.

Because he really doesn't want these hooligans running away then bringing back reinforcements before he and Rando can get Alfonse and Terry away, he will take attacks of opportunity on Mr Red Shirt and/or Mr Hands if the geometry of their run permits. He will not pursue them though as he wants to tend to Terry and Alfonse.

Back Alley Brawl - Aftermath

Rando quickly reaches local emergency services who informs him help is on the way and to remain in place until they arrive.

Dimtri provides basic military first aid to his fallen companions (Stop the bleeding, Start the breathing, Protect the wound, Treat for shock). Though quite ghastly to look at, none of their injuries appear life threatening. Both men are bloody and bruised but breathing on their own with steady pulse rates.

The Native Boy cautiously approaches Dimitri chattering in a dialect he does not understand. From a leather pouch on his back he produces a small metal box and places it on the ground. He uses his staff to slide to closer to Dimitri and points towards himself and then to the mountain range visible above the city walls to the west of the starport. He looks up suddenly as if he's heard something, chatters again and vaults past the group and quickly disappears from sight.

Moments later the distant sound of emergency sirens can be heard getting closer.

Dmitri will waive to the boy as he runs off and watch till he’s ducked out of sight. Then he will pick up the box and stuff it in his jacket pocket. He’ll turn to tend to Rando’s cut arm.

Once that’s taken care of, Dmitri will queue the video on his phone for police to see who the aggressor was. He’ll forward that video to Rando, Terry and Alphonse.

Back Alley Brawl - Aftermath

The local police arrive on scene first followed shortly by emergency medical services. There aren't many people about but they set up a perimeter and keep any lookie-loos from getting to close. A couple of news crews show up, take some video and b-roll then eventually disappear.

Terry and Alphonse receive treatment and the Travellers are separated then interviewed by the beat cops who take their statements about what happened. It's late afternoon as a local detective approaches the group, now back together, with a bag of sandwiches and bottles of water. "Sorry about the long day but you know, paperwork." he shrugs apologetically as he returns their belongings along with the food and drink.

"This lot, nothin but trouble. Rap sheets for days. Do you wanna press charges? I'm sure we can round up the rest of these idiots tonight."

All player characters needing medical treatment stats are now returned to normal

Alphonse stands up a bit too quickly and sways dizzily for a few seconds as he lowers himself back down.

"I think I just want to find somewhere to rest up quietly for a few hours, my head is still spinning."

“I don’t wanna have to deal with pressing charges, I’ll live. I’m gonna head back to the hotel and get some rest, maybe check around for a patron or a job tomorrow.”

Do you think anything will happen other than we spend hours filling in papers, then hang about, waiting for court time until we can't stay on planet any longer - and then the case is dismissed for lack of witnesses?

I'm surprised though. Who are they that beating up off-worlders doesn't get the trade guilds upset? After all, off-world trade is a key part of the economy and if you lose your reputation then your trade falls and the economy tanks. How come you guys aren't being tasked with stamping that kind of thing out?

[Thumper]

Dmitri will look for an opportune time to chime into the conversation with the officer.

Seeing as these Hooligans clearly need to be removed from the street for the safety of the general public on Onreon, and we are reluctant to commit the time to guarantee our services as witnesses, perhaps we can help in some other way? If these hooligans are on parole or probation, would my providing you with the video of the encounter and each of our video depositions be enough to incarcerate these thugs for their previous crimes?

Still feeling a little woozy Alphonse declares "Let's just get somewhere we can get ourselves sorted out and I can have a long sit down."

The detective takes the offered video evidence and assures the travelers the statements they've already provided will be enough to get the men who attacked them off the street, at least for a while.

The group makes their way back to the hotel and turn in for the night.

In case it wasn't clear earlier the medical treatment you received from the EMT return all stats to normal for those with injuries

In the morning over coffee in the lobby the group must decide on next steps.

Continue the search for a Patron, follow up on the native boy who left them the small box, or ...?

Before breakfast, Dmitri will take some time to examine the Star Box the native gave him just before running off. It seems to him, the native was motioning for them to go to the wilderness for some reason. He’ll reflect on that before meeting the others, then raise that recollection with them at breakfast.

Alphonse wakes with a splitting headache and makes his way to get a large mug of tea hoping that will sooth his head.

"Morning guys, everyone ok?

My head is killing me."

As the warming liquid seems to help clear his head and ease the pain Alphonse looks over at Dmitri.

"What is that you've got there?"

"How did we get into a brawl as soon as we set foot on this place?"

The box is a light coppery colored metal, and very precisely milled, 10cm per side. The top fits neatly over the bottom in two tightly fitting pieces. The box itself is empty.
The metal plate with double star image on top is secured in place by 4 small screws
