The lack of "Deception" probably means he is a good son...whether that remains the case when he meets those nurses of yours is another question!

As the boy's employer, you are responsible for teaching him to drive (sic), use a vacc-suit, broker a deal, wait at table, use the ship's electronics and persuade people to part with their goods/cash. You'd probably want to guide him into additional education so he can access those advanced skills - while he's probably more interested in other options! Streetwise to find "those" nurses; Language to chat them up; Deception so his parents don't find out.

A huge man, Jackson is an engineer that appears to be permanently optimistic and always in the wrong job

When he's on a ship, he wants to be on a station
When he's on a station, he wants to be on a ship!

He has a long suffering partner, Simone, who (despite being half his size) has him wrapped about her little finger.

1. What is the state of La Dolce Vita? Given the urgent need, could it transport goods?

2. Looking for straight business contacts for goods seems like Broker skill, if I read the MgT core rulebook correctly.
- if so, then a roll 13 (roll 8, +1 for Edu, +4 for Broker)

3. What's the point of being like everyone else? Angelo will also contact his current paramour (what is their role/position? I almost assumed Doctor or Nurse, but there are all sorts of options) who is connected somewhere to the hospital.
- He doesn't seek girl friends just to get a bargain, but he tends to meet ladies during his business deals. It often grows into a deeper, if not long term, relationship.
- While he doesn't do long term, he is "only one at a time".
- My assumption is that he has already built contacts with the hospital administration, so he can get the "official" needs from them. Not sure what skill you feel best for that, but it's only a base roll of 3, +1 for Edu. Broker would push it up, but I'm not sure that's the most appropriate. I guess they are busy with bodies.
- If his paramour isn't in the hospital admin, then Angelo can likely get another list of goods; things really needed but the admin can't or won't spring for directly.
- Paramour contact roll 9, head for business roll 9. No mods on either; this could be interesting!

4. Angelo's cost of living is probably higher than a straight Soc 8; he attends all the power parties and trades market insight for being on the guest list.
- There are often wealthy benefactors or local business people at the parties who will buy stuff to support their own businesses. These would be people who would put up a million or two on a good business venture. Angelo ensures he has their contact info and they have his.
- His paramour gets to join him, if appropriate, and he enjoys buying them nice clothes and helping them make their own contacts.
- - If a paramour has a head for business then they might get a longer term option.
- Well, drat! The dice went cold on me. To find a VC type contact I rolled 4, +1 Edu. Not sure what skill, but only one or two would push it near an 8+.

5. Angelo wasn't rolled up with Merchant Prince, IIRC, so the "Influence" thing isn't done. If that's something you want to employ, lemme know.

6. I'm open to options and suggestions; the universe you've created is pretty complex, and I don't have a good handle on it yet.
- If Ranjit or Jackson have good leads then they'll get a little more of the profits.

As you don't have any specific Network from your background, you are falling back on Broker (Commercial Contacts); Diplomat (Political Contacts); Streetwise (Judicial or Criminal Contacts) or any other type from any other bit of background.

So straight business contacts will be Broker...Now in the current situation you can think of 3 people who trade stuff...

I really don't like the dice roller any more, so I'll work on providing decision trees and you can adjudicate the results.

Well, since it got here, isn't it mildly space-worthy? People might have to wear vacc suits if they when into the cargo hold, and the engines might not be full capacity, but they can fire up, correct?

Of course, if Angelo can leverage things so that the military/whomever allows re-opening of the public maintenance facilities then he'll get some clout from the success. Maybe some credits as well, but influence and side deals have their uses.

Okay, making sure I'm clear on things. The Vita could, in theory, make the four day round trip. However, if we use the ship's boat, and with the two pallets at five tons each, there is no room for return cargo, correct?

If the Vita could be ready in a few days, Jackson could stay behind and do that. What's the estimated success on that?

If there's 10 dT of cargo we can quickly take out, we could do that.

So, let's put things in order:

1. Finding 10 +/- dT of spec cargo that Angelo thinks would make a decent profit on the far side, and not take too long to sell.
1.1. Unless he knows a broker on the other side, and the cargo was worth the effort? Angelo would pay a decent broker's fee.

2. The guest and coffin will make for a tight space in the main area.

3. Angelo is developing his network, as you can tell.
3.1. From the character notes, message #6 item #3, is this roll in play? - Paramour contact roll 9, head for business roll 9. No mods on either; this could be interesting!

Out of character, the ship offer was for the use of the low berths in case there were seriously injured without enough hospital staff to tend them immediately, and the staterooms if there were displaced staff needing a place to stay. Of course, he can offer things to the hospital, but offering them to the military first was an attempt to help relieve some of the tension.

Those lower ranks might need to get frozen while the upper ranks get taken care of.

Is there a map or other something I can look at so we can discuss how Angelo can drop off the widow and coffin (are they going to the same place?), pick up the cargo, meet the Morgensterns, and deliver the present to Kiko? How spread apart are these places?

Does Becka's ex have a name? Maybe it's time to do some introductions.
