Requiem

Office of the President, United Federation of Planets

Memorandum for public release.

It is with great respect that we honor the fallen aboard the USS Inceku Engabonakali; no greater courage is shown than laying down one's life for citizens that they did not know. Yet their courage has a source, and that source was Commodore Hiram Ganbaatar. He loved his crew, and they returned that love with a loyalty and strength that shines among the stars.

Yet perhaps they were also inspired by the courage of those who have gone before; who have braved the unknown and brought peace to a troubled universe. While I am saddened by the loss of such brave women and men, I report to you a moment of historical significance.

The USS Inceku Engabonakali was too damaged to refit, and crews respectfully began to dismantle her for transformation into a floating memorial. During that work, shipyard staff noticed several inspection tags on internal systems. These time-stamped tags are common in large projects, and unique to an inspector. Starfleet has no record of a ship designated NX-14, and Prakziz reports that the ship was purchased from an Andorian mothball fleet. With much love, and significant creativity, the USS Inceku Engabonakali was brought to life.

Yet just as the crew of the USS Inceku Engabonakali stood against a outnumbering enemy, they stood on the decks of giants. Per Star Fleet records, the inspection tags belong to a ship long thought lost.

With the blessing of the Prakziz leaders, NX-01, the USS Enterprise, will be returned to the Smithsonian's space museum, with all due honors.
