Chapter I: Volokarnos

Harlan
This is a waste of time. The other corridor is a much bigger threat right now. But if you... people insist, it looks like an easy job. Get it done, and let's move on!

To keep the Porter and Dog out of the way, we'll move to watch the other corridor...porter behind me...dog snuffling about in front.

Burkus waits and keeps an eye out while the dwarves fiddle with the door.

Alrighty then, Harlan, Rooney, let's fiddle with this there door!
Two dwarves and a thief with a crowbar.. I think we can make short work of this.

Harlan nods sourly and applies his strength to prying open the door.

Crowbars the door.
Rooney: opens doors [1d100]=8
Rooney: opens doors [1d20]=12
"That should nearly do it."

Re: Chapter I: Volokarnos
The combined strength of the men bend and break the door away from the wall, revealing... nothing. The door is a fake, made of cheap bronze, attached to the wall with hidden rivets. The handle is attached to a mechanism that goes into the wall as is some other part of the door.doppelganger wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 2:07 am Weezel

I'll need a roll for each of the two mechanisms, please. Either find or remove traps or open locks, whichever is luckier.
Everyone keeping watch is startled when Ingwe the dog perks it's head up and starts heading towards the obelisk room where a blond, blue eyed elven male in chain mail bursts through the northern door and slams it shut behind him. He hisses the word you've all been anticipating "Orcs!"BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 3:29 pm To keep the Porter and Dog out of the way, we'll move to watch the other corridor...porter behind me...dog snuffling about in front.

Rooney
The apprentice footpad digs out some long nose pliers and some bent wire to try and discern any trap in the door.
Rooney find traps vs 14% [1d100]=95
"Nothing to see here." he says, then hears about "Orcs!" and grabs his weapons rather than picking the lock.

Readies his bow taking a position behind the Obelisk for some extra cover. He looses an arrow at the next figure who enters through the north door.

Hondo takes a position towards the back but is ready with his mace to step in should a front line fighter fall.

Taerentym
The newcomer shuts the door behind him and unsheathes his longsword. He's panting, "There's six of them." He doesn't say anything else, his attention centered on the enemies coming behind him.

"About damn time," grumbles Burkus as he readies his bow. "Not saying I was looking for a fight, but I was starting to wonder if this place was totally deserted."
