Drest

Drest tries talking to Euripides, "Not sure which to try first."

If that doesn't work he just shrugs for him to see.

The Tube

Xenos wisely stays above the weird watery seal as the others drop below it to explore the remainder of this tube. So far, he doesn't see anyone return, though it is very dark now without any torch on this side of the anomaly.

Akhilleus pushes through the blob-like watery pudding next to join the others below. His blazing torch nearly snuffs after being taken through the dark mass, but somehow stays alight, sputtering badly almost immediately after he gets below the seal.

At the bottom of the steps he sees a metal door with a strange wheel in its center, and a single lever in the wall opposite the door. The air in this chamber smells old and starts to get hard to breath fairly quickly.

Ghostly Drest lets a croaky thought slip out as they look around. "Not sure which to try first."

Actions?

positions:
Akhilleus AC:4 11/22 (Torch)
Xenos AC:5 6/12 2/2
Euripides AC:5 9/10 2/2
Drest?

Akhilleus

"Let's open the door first. We can have some fresh air." He will try to open the door of everyone agrees. If the door doesn't budge, then he will pull the lever.

Euripides Nereos

Sounds good to me. The Atlantean will look around, hoping to find anything written on the walls or...really anything, hoping someone left instructions. Or at least a warning. Maybe a good riddle...

The Tube

It takes some effort, but Xenos eventually gets a damp torch to catch a weak, sputtering flame. The lone Ixian sees no action from the others below through the black mass at his feet.

Euripides searches the door, walls, and lever for any symbols or other writing. At the door, he hears a very slight but continuous hissing noise that seems to be coming from the opposite side. The walls and floor are bare, but there is writing above and below the lever sticking out of the wall. Above the lever is the word Lock. Below the lever is the word Retract.

Akhilleus grabs ahold of the circular opening mechanism in the center of the door, giving it a good reef but finding it either stuck in place or locked. (I will need a Feat Of Strength roll to attempt this, please.) When he moves over to the lever instead, strangely, he doesn't see the writing Euripides points out on the wall. (I will need a Test Of Strength if you wish to pull down on the lever.)

Testing for any new abilities in his current form, ghostly Drest tries to escape the room by either walking through the door or the walls of the tube. The others watch in concern as the shimmering figure bumps directly into the metal door first, then does the same at the stone walls. It seems that despite his odd unsubstantial form, the ghost is just as trapped in here as the rest of the fully functioning members of the dwindling party.

Actions?

positions:
Akhilleus AC:4 11/22 (Torch)
Euripides AC:5 9/10 2/2
Drest?

Xenos AC:5 6/12 2/2 (Torch)

The Ixian waits for any communication from his companions for what he thinks is 10 minutes or so. If nothing occurs then he decides to proceed through the strange substance at his feet.

You gave me both Test of Strength rolls.

I asked for a Feat of Strength for the door, which would be a d100 roll.

Euripides Nereos

The Atlantean will gesture at the writing by the lever. Can either of you read this?

The Bottom Of The Tube

Akhilleus reefs on the circular door mechanism with all his might, eventually getting the wheel to turn a bit easier in is hands. Before he opens the door, he moves back to where the others are near the lever in the wall.

Euripides points out the words above and below the lever that none of the others can actually see while Akhilleus reaches up and easily yanks the lever into the downward position. Despite the fighters recklessness, other than hearing a strange noise coming from the darkness above them, nothing immediately horrible results from the action.

Then a slight hissing or whistling noise is accompanied by a bit of thumping that comes from above as well, quickly growing louder.

(Xenos, please see private thread.)

Actions?

positions:
Akhilleus AC:4 11/22 (Torch)
Euripides AC:5 9/10 2/2
Drest?

Xenos AC:5 6/12 2/2 (Torch)
