The Game Chambers underneath Moff Bandor's Palace

Kit rushes over and grabs one of the three Medpacs Kael had discovered and she quickly uses it to stabilize the gravely wounded Jackson and while he remains unconscious, he is no longer in harm of leaving this plane of existence just yet*.....

As she was doing that; Professor Clark scooped up the Blaster Carbine that NIL-8 had been carrying; hissing at his own wound 'crying out' to him and he was pleased to see the weapon was undamaged and appeared to have about half of its charge in its Powerpack (i.e. about 25 shots). He laid the Hunting Blaster Rifle down near Kit for her to use and moved over to where Kael was and he took a look at the helmet he had discovered. While Clark was no Technical expert; he realized by inspecting the inside of it that two things were highly unusual.....

Fist; the helmet had a charge of some kind of explosive that looked as if it had gone inert and a no-longer functioning detonator that could be triggered by a remote signal in the compound.....CLEARLY intended for someone to be able to use to explode the head of whoever was wearing the Helmet...nasty!

Second: the Helmet itself was made out of a strange metal and a VERY specific lining....as if to block out some kind of wave of energy or radiation.......perhaps whatever it was that was making it increasingly hard to think clearly and which made everyone look over their shoulders and all around them in a panic every few moments....

Kael showed the helmet he had found to Professor Clark and saw him go through the motions and meanwhile, the Diplomat carefully belted the holster around his waist and examined the Heavy Blaster Pistol he had discovered. If his instincts and all the things he had experienced so far were to be believed, he'd CERTAINLY be needing it. The charge in the Powerpack was almost completely drained....perhaps enough left for maybe 5 shots....

Vale refused all the energy weapons and instead he stuck with his Gaffi Stick and once he saw that Jackson was out of immediate danger due to the excellent care of his Student, Kit'katarra; he closed his eyes and attempted to 'connect with the Force'. The strange waves pounding his mind made it difficult, but he was able to do so after a long moment.....and that did much to refresh himself.....

That done; everyone looked around and saw that the trip wires that released the nasty rocks above them could be marked and they noted the only way to go was through the room; even as all of them once again felt the hackles go up on the back of their necks and all snapped looks this way and that, but saw nothing....

*Jackson is now just Wounded as is Clark. The former will wake up in a few if you all wish to stay here for a bit; otherwise he can be slung over someone's shoulder.

-Zuul:

The Barabel looked around and spoke to cameras or PA boxes that may be out there and he was rewarded with an amused laugh; "Indeed my fine hunter, indeed......now go forth and kill prey......before they or the Chambers do the same to you!"

Careful scrutiny DID show an occasional holo-camera; but they were REALLY well-hidden and so the Barabel shrugged and continued down the left hand tunnel. He eventually came to a rounded bend and as he started to follow the tunnel around the bend to where the tunnel then continued for a long stretch; out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a strange gleam on the ground. A well hidden room was BEHIND the bend and a door was not full closed; a door whose outside looked EXACTLY like the tunnel; but that slight crack showed a room full of machinery. Looking at the walls and ceilings nearby; Zuul could see NO cameras in this area.....

Kit pockets the 2 remaining med kits, slings Jackson over her shoulder and picks up the hunting blaster rifle. She nods to Vale that she is ready.

OOC: Re: Kael's helmet. To confirm: the detonator is inactive, meaning that as far as Clark can tell it can no longer be triggered remotely?
Re: Med Kits. Agreed, we need to save them until we really need them.

"It seems that Bandor's hunters are just as much his toys as are the prey. At least I can think of no other use for this helmet, if not a hunter's."

Clark, now equipped with the Blaster Carbine, is also ready to move on.

OOC: Yes, the detonator is drained of power.....could it be re-powered, perhaps....

Kael will happily give up the blaster and carry the desert weapon.

Unless otherwise told too, he will leave the irritating helmet behind.

Refreshed, he nods to Kit and the others and indicates that he is ready to move forward.

After peering around and listening for a few moments, Zuul decides to risk it and go for the door. He keeps one hand on his blaster, and one hand uses the knife to carefully open the door a bit further to look inside. He pauses to look and listen for anything inside.

Professor Clark puts on the Silver Helmet as the rest of the band divide up the weapons and gear and Kit throws a now out-of-the-woods-but-still-unconscious Jackson over her shoulder and the group starts to move on....

Clark pretty quickly realizes the annoying buzzing in his head and feelings of paranoia fade completely out once he has the helmet securely on his head. As the band of Rebel/Traders moves down the tunnel towards the next room, the Professor sees all of his companions suddenly stop, stagger around almost drunkenly for a moment and most put hands to their heads*.....

Kit, Kael and Vale all walked into the tunnel and as they came close to the entrance into another cavern/chamber it felt like they were hit by a wave......a wave that made all of their heads flare in sudden pain and all of them clutched their heads and took unbalanced steps for moment. The pain passed, but they continued to feel dizzy....and angry.....and KNOWING numerous threats were out to get them just LURKING out there.....waiting.......

Clark sees all of them straighten up, eyes darting every which way....movement now erratic, all of them looking like they were at the edge of snapping. The veteran Rebel also took the time to look around the new cavern they had entered; it looked much like the last one, save this one had nothing on the ceiling....just numerous strange rocky outcroppings on the 'floor' of it and he couldn't see any trip wires or skeletons, etc., etc. He DID however immediately notice the other being in the room....

A Wroonian female wearing a Silver Helmet pretty much EXACTLY like the one Clark was wearing and she was perched on a rock formation looking this way and that with a Heavy Blaster pistol clutched in her hands in a poor grip that she kept pointing this way and that. She whirled around towards them when they entered, but she quickly lowered her aim and in a husky voice, she called out as she rushed over towards them with gratitude in her eyes; "OH THANK THE STARS! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! PLEASE HELP ME STAY ALIVE!"

She looks like this, but with a Silver Helmet on:





-Zuul


Zuul uses his Knife to push the door open a bit wider and he sees a dusty room with metallic floors, walls and ceiling....NO rocks of any kind are visible. He slips into the room and sees that it's dominated by a massive machine of some kind with numerous 'pipes' feeding out of it and into the ceiling/through the walls and it's making a steady humming sound. A few computer controls are on the side of it and a small table is perched near it with a tray of some Equipment tools in it. No other immediate ways of entering or exiting can be seen and he also notes that he does not see any holo-cameras or other surveillance devices in the room either.....


*Everyone in the 'main' Party except Clark is now at -1D to ALL actions as this strange FEELING is making all of you unsteady....and angry.....and paranoid....

Clark does not immediately trust the Wroonian, concerned that she could be a Hunter attempting some type of deception. This is despite the fact that he is also currently wearing a silver helmet and is no longer under the influence of the paranoia-rays! He keeps his blaster carbine pointed in her general direction but not directly at her.

"Sure, just keep that Blaster pointed away from us," he replies. "How did you get here?"

Kit moves away from Clark so that she can't easily transition targets and brings her Blaster to bear on her, covering her in case she decides to attack.

Kael puts down his stick and takes his knife off. and walks forward.

"Young lady, we are not here to hurt you if you are peaceful.

You can keep your weapon, we are just being wary.

Lets all put our weapons down together.

Zuul

He examines the tools and tries to check out the computer controls. He's trying to figure out what this thing does, so he's looking for labels or such. If possible, he'll try to use the computer controls to open other menus.

Kael strides forward and while in his mind he is speaking quite clearly and rationally as he demonstrates his peaceful intentions and tries to lower the tension in the room by placing his Gaffi Stick and Knife to the ground; to everyone else, he angrily swipes the air with the Stick before tossing it to the ground and then does the same with his Knife while barking out something about putting weapons down; which makes everyone nervous...

Vale is even more agitated and he calls out that the Wroonian woman MUST be an enemy while his wild eyes dart this way and that before Professor Clark comes to talk him down calmly....

The Wroonian woman's hand tenses around the Heavy Blaster pistol for a moment, her finger poised on the trigger and for a split second, the Rebels-turned-traders think she's going to open the ball and start firing.....then she holsters the weapon and puts her hands up in the classic; 'Don't Shoot' pose. She turns to Clark and says; "My name's Tympanic.....I found this helmet on the body of one of the hunters....I think it MUST stop the 'crazy waves' this place seems to produce.....the ones that are making your friends go nuts. I've seen it so many times before....this place is a NIGHTMARE! That awful Moff who threw me in here SAYS there's a way out....but I don't know....maybe that's just a lie. Anyway, I'm no threat to any of you.....I just wanna live!"

Kit the Wookie collapses to one knee for a moment as the waves seem to cloud her mind and it's all she can do to NOT let out an angry roar and tear into this newcomer and flee the room....but she's able to, with great difficulty, call on the Force and steady her nerves and she does her best to take in the situation....

Vale is able to SOMEWHAT do the same and calm down, largely with the help of Clark and he takes a deep breath to try and calm himself, though his eyes continue to dart this way and that....

Tympanic nods to one of the exits out of the room and says; "I know THAT way leads to a cavern room that either doesn't have any traps or all of them have been activated....it's fairly 'safe'.....well....at least until some of the Hunters find us. Wanna go there?"

In the strange machinery room, Zuul studies the massive device and fiddles with a few of the controls but all he can really tell is that it's some kind of Power Generator and that it's active and powering up....something.....that seems to work kind of like Climate Control. It seems to have a 'more powerful/less powerful' tuning control...but nothing for turning it on/off. He ALSO notes that some of the tools MAY be able to work on his helmet....though, he's not sure how exactly the 'bomb' works.....i.e. if he takes it off, will the Moff instantly know?....

Clark still doesn't completely trust Tympanic, but doesn't want to let on to his already-paranoid friends for fear that they will overreact since they are already on edge!

"What we really need to do is get out of here, sooner or later somebody will snap. We shouldn't just wait around, what we need to do is find more hunters and take their helmets! Have you disabled your helm? They can be quite dangerous if not defused."
