This is just my forum to script public notices and announcements to all you players.

So any changes, edits, addendums, updates to the campaign setting, rules, discoveries or general news shout outs that are of benefit to the players I will post here. So read and check out any forum changes as your character may benefit.

So firstly I will like to draw your attention to some edits in the House Rules which add some extra martial feats or weapons of choice to the classes.

Secondly, I have unilaterally adjusted the experience thresholds so that all players may advance at the same level. I know it may penalise thieves over benefitting mages but I think overall the effect balances the game much better.

Any issues, questions or thoughts, please let me know as I am trialing a lot of stuff to see how they they make the game better for players or if they overpower/nerf classes.

I am currently reviewing some expeditions xp awards and am aware from checking sheets that not everybody noted the 100xp bonus award for when my horse won in June. Please note that on your character sheet.

Also add another 101xp each in advance of my missus' birthday on the 1st of Sept.

I was going to award just 50xp til the wife looked at me with that, "am I not worth more than your £@#!#@ horse" kind of look.

This also means by my calculations that Sven is the first player to advance in level. Remember you get to re-roll new hp scores of 1.

Inflation

Supply and demand are fickle variables. Due to an increase of seasonal adventurers in town and bandits attacking supply wagons and merchants en route from Ironguard, not to mention Lord Krothos implementing a V.A.T surcharge on non-essential items, there will be a significant price hike in the costs of supplies and equipment.

So buy or or regret later. Prices increase from by-the-book prices at the end of the in-game calendar month.

Commensurate with this is a price hike in mercenary hirings, Gem store loan fees and tavern accommodation costs.

The reward is your new found gemstones and treasure are worth more when you sell.

So I have opened the thread and all characters that were in town on May 1st can participate in any competitions and events to earn some XP, cash or item rewards.

So this is a retrospective festival as even if you are on an expedition now (Ranch, Grave, Hallowed), you were in town during the festival so post your character's participation as events are advertised.

I will give a few more days for others to enter their tasty wares and I will open up another competition shortly.

I have moved the Spider Silk expedition to the Completed expeditions thread. Characters in that trip can plan their next adventures. Consider Bulletin Board options or investigating rumours and plot-hooks discovered or just create your expedition and head off in search of death and glory.

I am pushing to start the new expedition threads so at least two can start by the weekend.

Those people not committed to going out can stay and roleplay in the village at their own pace.

I noted before, telling of the inflation affecting supplies at the store and also from the summer months (June 1st) the Mercenary guild will increase prices which basically means the 'insurance cost' deposit is being phased out.

Let me send my greetings in advance of your festive day. I know many folk will be travelling or offline during this week. I will try and update all threads by Wednesday so you have the weekend to mull over character actions.

In an edit to this post I am also addressing the question of 'What happens to characters who reduce to zero hp?' So I am giving this some though and will amend the section on Health, Healing and Dying in the House Rules thread.

Just a heads up as we head into a Christmas and New Year time.

I will try to advance each expedition before Wednesday to any relevant action points and each personal or village thread.

Christmas Eve: probably welcoming family visits.

Sunday 26th, I am spending my Boxing Day at Kempton Racecourse cheering on Chantry House in the King George Stakes. (Not one of my syndicate horses, just strongly fancied).

and on the 27th, I am at the football.

Going to be a strange weekend, turkey and wine on Christmas, maybe prawn cocktails and some bubbly if I win at the races (or something to drown my sorrows) and pie & mash with some Pedigree IPA on matchday.

The Town Crier tolls his bell, announcing village news, the latest hatched, matched and despatched who were born, married and buried. He also spreads the latest gossip and random rumours and exalts various reputations, reads the Bulletin Board recruitment threads and keeps a record of player chronology.

So, for characters, we have:

May 11th: Leibish is escorting an elven maid, Harmony, across the Barrow Moor to her home in the Wrydwood, accompanied by Sigrid.

May 11th: Vann Hector, Cosmo Snag, Sir Dewey, are scouting out the Sauron Mound with ex-military officer Foxrell and Helix mud wrestling champion, Sun Tsieng Roy the monk.

May 15th: Savant & Dalin, with a quartet of hirelings are trekking the Moor with the intent to raid more Barrow Mounds. They return the same day having encountered some Fungicides. Savant us infected and unable to procure a Cure Disease, dies a few days later in the Helix Hospice.

May 12th-18th: Moriartus, Dougal, Fydmar & Cadeweed have recently returned from a gruelling Barrow Mounds expedition and rest up in town, restoring health and sanity and planning their next escapades. They are joined in the tavern by Venwynn, an elven ranger, new in town and looking for adventure. They are joined by Dalin and set off on May 20th to return to the Mummy Mound.

May 19th: Golgarth and Gunter are acting as guards for the Silver Standard, securing a cargo of goods to Bogtown where they hope to discover what happened to the former Cromm Cruach priest in Helix, Elder Barraclough.

May 20th: Sven, Gerdal, Orgoth & Isvand along with a group of hirelings and NPC's are exploring some abandoned corridors of the Barrowmaze.

May 20th: Mummy Mound expedition leaves Helix.

May 20th: Two new adventurers arrive independently and scout town locations looking for adventure. Traeliorn frequents the Brazen Strumpet Tavern while Yobruh gets to work at the Foul Pheasant.
