A little help. I'm not sure what this means?

Then a thunk sound accompanies a solid blow from Haelan's staff leaving a dent in the still throbbing crown of the noisemaker.

A stone from Haelan's sling sinks into a neighboring stalk,

Okay, good news.

I'm going to start to ramp this game up. I got you started in this quick 'starter' dungeon, but I have a long series of situations prepared to keep you guys moving once this current situation is resolved.

Hope you guys are ready!

Work is really kicking my ass right now, and as I have plans to take off Monday and Tuesday of next week for various appointments and what have you, I have a TON of work that I absolutely need to take care of between today (Thursday) and tomorrow.

I hate to say it, but I most likely will be not in a position to update any of my games again until this weekend (maybe) or early/mid next week.

I'm thinking performing a hard reset on this game, but then getting and keeping it moving on a more consistent basis.

Hopefully this will be later tonight or sometime tomorrow.

At this point, I feel compelled to ask: Where do we stand on this game?

I admit, my posting hasn't been the most timely, but there have been almost no responses between my latest updates.

My update on 'Fri Oct 01, 2021 4:38 pm' only had replies from Rex and VonAlric.
My update on 'Sun Oct 17, 2021 1:53 am' only had one, from Rex.

Is there still interest in seeing this game continue?

Sure, I'm interested, but to be quite honest not at the current pace. I don't even remember my character's name.

To this point, my DM-ing obligations here on this site are (very soon) about to be halved.

I'm running two groups in one game (and those groups are about to merge) and another one of my current games is very near its end.
Plus, I think, after this current encounter, I'm going to run one of the many OSE adventures I've purchased recently instead of creating everything on the fly. This means, in both of the remaining games I'll be running, I'll have published content to fall back on which will make keeping up with them a lot easier.

So, smoother sailing ahead.

I'm still interested. It's just hard to come up with an action while we're engaged in this ursican standoff.

I was half-expecting someone to declare that they're moving further into the cave, or attempting to exit past the bear, but the situation did cause a bit of a standoff (not sure what 'ursican' means?).

My plan is to:
(1) Perform a reset on the game and remove the group from the current situation with the bear and introduce the next scenario; or
(2) Continue to play out this current situation, making reaction rolls for the bear until it forces the action one way or the other. Then organically transition into the next scenario (which will be a published adventure).

It's just my stupid joke. It's a Mexican standoff except with a bear (ursa).

I'm still interested. I think we got to a spot and weren't sure what was next and kinda waited. I was somewhat waiting on the bear but I could have helped by saying something along those lines as well.
It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

I have to join the choir. I'm paying attention, but there's a new post once in a blue moon, containing nothing but "the bear comes slightly closer".

I felt it, too, and should have maybe pushed the action one way or the other much sooner.

I think, for me, going completely theater of the mind with no map definitely caused me issues. I struggled to understand the spacial relationships between the different groups (e.g. the scouts and the rest of the party), and eventually the bear as well.

I'm leaning towards this first option.

With a map. ;)

I am still in. Whatever is the easiest way for you to move it forward is fine with me.
