Re: The In Crowd
Julia can grab some makeup and spare clothes but she'll leave the phones to David.

Fast forward, 10 basic phones with pre-paid cards.

Leo
While Leo waits for the others to return, he grabs another special and tries not to prowl around the bar, seeing if anyone around is interested in a friendly game of pool.

Re: The In Crowd
Depending on amount of makeup, you can spend between $5 and $10. There are no clothes except for an old Chicken-palooza soccer (or football for those of us not living in the states) style shirt in size small. The shirt is on sale for $5.00
Thats $450 for the phones plus $20 per prepaid card. That will essentially tap David out till he can access his resources unless he uses credit.Monsieur Rose wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 2:57 am Let's fast forward the shopping.

$400 for the phones and cards. William is also close to being tapped out till he can access his resources unless he wants to use credit.
Off to the side of the bar is a separate section (almost another room but wide open to the bar) with 4 pool tables. All the tables are occupied by people (mortal and otherwise) playing. Three of the tables have quarters lined up on the top of the rails (but there isn't enough people in the room so either a rematch is already set or the next player is known and in the bar waiting.) One table has two guys playing but there are no quarters lined up for next game.

Julia will pass on the chicken jersey and just get the makeup.

Re: The In Crowd
Aww
Odin leans against the bar, absent mindedly staring at the room, trying to figure out who among the crowd is mortal, and which of those realize the true nature of the others. He tries to correlate what he sees with the many nights he spent on and off stage, trying to figure out how many times he's skirted the edges of this well guarded secret.

Leo wanders up to the last table

David
That works, he'll have to use the phones to gather resources anyway.
His shopping done, he catches the eye of Julia and William then exits the store.
Outside: "Good? Let's get back and figure out the next step."

Re: The In Crowd
While his new-found predatory sense allows him to discern the kindred from the mortal, Odin has no idea how many of those mortals are aware of the predators they are standing shoulder to shoulder with. As this place seems to be a safe house of sorts, Odin is sure the kindred ratio is higher here than in other places but it is still a scary thought to think back and wonder how many strangers in the crowds he has stood in front of have been immortal.Lance wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 8:48 am Odin leans against the bar, absent mindedly staring at the room, trying to figure out who among the crowd is mortal, and which of those realize the true nature of the others. Both players at the table are lean in build and white in color. One has greasy slicked back blond hair, a sleeveless t-shirt advertising some car or other (it's old enough that the decal is flaking off), and has a chain connecting his wallet to his belt. The other is slightly shorter, has slicked back black hair (gel or cream as it doesn't look greasy), a sleeveless black t-shirt with white lettering (AC/DC Back in Black), and also has a chain attaching his wallet to his belt. They are currently standing near one another. One is giving off a predatory vibe but you are not sure which. The shorter one looks at you and sneers. "Winner holds the table. You want to challenge the winner, but some coins up," he points his stick to the rail above the vending slot.
You all head back to the bar without incident. I will bring you in as soon as Leo and Odin have an equal amount of time in the bar.Monsieur Rose wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 3:45 pm David

I have no idea what that means.I will bring you in as soon as Leo and Odin have an equal amount of time in the bar.
Re: The In Crowd
The group that left to get burner phones was gone for 30 minutes. I am allowing those who stayed in the bar 30 minutes before the others return.

Re: The In Crowd
Odin watches Leo play some pool
Re: The In Crowd
Sorry, I was waiting to see if Leo was going to take the offer and I completely missed it.
The smaller of the two wins the game after a couple of minutes. The taller two goes to crack the stick across his knee and quickly remembers where he is. Taking a moment to gather his cool, he puts the que back in the wall rack and heads over to his table where two others sit laughing at him in the way only good friends can laugh at another's misery. The winner looks at Leo, pointing with his que, Go ahead and drop 'em. You rack, winner has first shot.
Re: The In Crowd
Leo sets up the table then steps back to grab a cue and watch the guy break.
Re: The In Crowd
Game of Pool: 7d10t6 4 [7d10t6=3, 10, 5, 4, 6, 9, 8]
The guy lines his shot up and breaks the balls almost like a professional, sinking two solids on the break. You figure he's been playing for a while. The break also lined a perfect shot for him which he sinks as well. He follows this up with another ball in the corner pocket. He smiles at Leo as he goes for another shot but his smile fades as he misses the shot.
DEX + Athletics with a target of 6. Each success is a ball down for you. In this contest, a 1 does not cancel a success but it does signify you sinking one of his. If you roll a 1 with NO successes, you sink the 8 ball prematurely and lose the game.

Leo
"Not bad.."
Pool: 6d10t6 3 [6d10t6=10, 4, 1, 7, 7, 3]
Leo smiles at the man as he gets a strong run of 3, but it quickly fades as he manages to sink one of his opponents balls "Damn!"

Re: The In Crowd
Leo sinks one of the stripes and it lines him up for another shot which he sinks as well. On his third round, he doesn't strike the que ball straight on and ends up sinking a solid. The little man lets out a loud "Ha!" before taking his turn.
Leo - 2
Opponent - 5
Pool: 7d10t6 3 [7d10t6=1, 5, 10, 10, 5, 7, 2]
Leo's opponent knocks one ball in the pocket. Then he moves to the opposite side of the table and knocks another ball in the pocket, however the que ball has too much spin and knocks a striped ball into a pocket as well.
Leo - 3
Opponent - 7
He grimaces at his mistake but there are no longer any solid balls on the table and he only has to sink the 8-ball.
