The pod's iris door slides open, revealing the craft's interior. Immediately, a young girl's face pops into view. "Oh, thank you! It's a mess in here, and it stinks!" She looks extremely annoyed. "Can I go over there, the smell is awful!" She points toward the pinnace's hatch.

Zhenya smiles at the girl ( even if the helmet masks it it will brighten her speech ) and remains outside the pod for the moment, waiting to see what happens next:

"My brother started it! He puked everywhere, and then Miss Anna started! They can't even stand a little bit of whirling. Now I smell like puke, too. I'm going over there." She pushes off from the pod with her feet and floats toward the outer airlock door, which begins to cycle open to receive her.

"Copy one passenger to cycle through," McConnell says dryly over their link.

To the ship: We have Miss Anna, my daughter's tutor aboard the life raft. Whoever is purporting to be aboard with our Steward searching for the children is not Miss Anna. You may want to take appropriate action to protect the ship. The search may have taken them to secure spaces.

Still smiling, but a little broader Zhenya comments I think I shall declare the interior a slipzone and potential biohazard and leave it to the medical professionals Doctor Harmersbach.

She leans on the pod hatch's outer frame to look into the pod, checking there is no threat or seriously injured occupant.

To climb in, lock the door, and launch the pod seems an implausible sequence of accidents.

A young boy, who is visibly the departed girl's twin, sits to Zhenya's right in one of the acceleration couches, while a woman in her mid-thirties is seated across from him. They, and the entire cabin, appears to be coated in vomit. "Thank you for stopping this thing," the woman says with a weak smile. Her speech is slow and soft, and she focuses on getting the words out. "I think we've run out of things to toss up."

Neither of them makes any move to get up - they're still sitting there with their safety harnesses on.

After the lock cycles, Freya steps into the cabin. Immediately, everyone smells the odor of vomit on her. "Frey said the captain told us to abandon ship. He wouldn't listen to me."

The girl shrugs. "I saw the life pod, and we ran to it. The door was open, and we went inside. Then, it left the ship and we were stuck there."

The CPO shakes her head. "No message. That's the automatic beacon we use to track the pod."

It's Anna...There was someone who checked in as Anna earlier (when we were still on the ship) and claimed to be looking for my children...This could be complicated or simple masquerading as complex. We need to tread carefully.
