Ah, good work. That would've left a mark on any of us.
Felgorian will then look for anything that may be used as leverage to pry open the door. He would prefer not to use his sword.

A few bits of the rubble can be used for such work... Old roof rafters and the like.

Felgorian gets an idea. The rubble may be more useful than just pounding heads of unsuspecting intruders. He grabs a sturdy piece of wood and attempts to move the door.

Beya agrees with Felgorian; "Indeed Husker, well done"; she thanks the Thief. Seeing Felgorian go about attempting to open the door; she readies a throwing blade and moves out of his way; keeping her attention on the portal (hopefully) about to be breached....

(My computer decided to have "Issues" last night, repaired now)

Image

The door opens, and due to the smart work of the thief, you are not buried under the rubble. and you see the doorway to the spring, gold hinged doors that open outwards are to your south. However there is two bodies, one is just bones, but another is fresh, The Villager goes "Lydia??" and goes to see the corpse, she is dead, she was strong and had a leather jerkin on, but there are deep scratches and a empty water bottle. she is quite dead.

Beya took in the scene and a combination of fear, sorrow and determination to get to the fountain all hit her at once. Putting a hand on the villager's shoulder; she says; "I'm so very sorry for your loss"; in a quiet, sincere tone.

Her other hand kept ahold of one of her throwing daggers though and she kept her head on a swivel. Turning to the others she says; "Something with claws killed that poor woman; keep an eye and an ear out."

Felgorian nods. Yes. But let us not repeat her fate. Whatever made those marks may still be here.
He will look around, sword at the ready.

The Villager nods, and then says "Well, if we get the healing waters, if there is enough water, then we can give her some, it is supposed to raise the newly dead from their slumber."

The area is mostly clear, the other body has nothing of value (it is so old everything is deeply rusty). The villager then points at the doors to the south. "This is where the healing waters where located at, at least according to stories in the village."

Felgorian looks around, and asks the thief,

Do you mind checking those doors, if we saw a trap before this area, surely we should expect them closer to the waters.

The Thief checks the doors for traps

"They open outwards, but no traps."

Felgorian feels somewhat relieved. He looks around to make sure everyone is ready. He also takes the empty water vial from "Lydia" in case they need more to help her as well.

Alright, folks... Here goes.

He opens the doors, standing to the side as they open with sword at the ready.

The halfling barbarian likewise stands a-ready with axe and shield to face whatever the door opening may reveal.

Edit: My power is back up!! yeaaa

The doors open outwards, unlike the rest of the temple, the roof is till solid, and while there is shafts of light, very little can be seen without illumination. Though sharp ears can hear water flowing into a pool of some sort to the south. You see golden sconce on the walls near the door where their is light. the room seems to be made of black marble.

Assuming elves' infravsion would work in this situation Felgorian will gingerly step inside the doors, to get better accustomed to the low light. He will hold sword ready, incase something attacks.

If another PC (or npc) has lantern, please light.

Beya shrugs off her pack and opens it to pull out a Lantern and a flask of oil. Pouring the oil into the Lantern, she then uses her Tinderbox to get it going. Once that is done; she puts the pack back on; lifts up the lantern in her left hand with a dagger in her right and moves to shine the lantern light into the new chamber....

The light shines forth, and you start seeing the outline of what is inside....

there is a fountain about 30 feet away, just on the edge of your light on the southern wall, you can see that there are stairs leading to the fountain. There is a Statue above the fountain, it does not move, it carved out of solid black stone, made into a fearsome beast with Claws, horns, and mount outstretched like it was to pour water into the fountain. you see that the fountain does have a little water. You will need to get closer to see more details.

The Villager offers to hold the Light to be useful.

Sword out and clinched tight, Felgorian will make his way toward the object.
Let us look closer. Hopefully this will be easier than feared. But, probably not. Oh, and Thank you for holding the lamp good sir.

(OOC - If he lives though this, you have at least one very loyal torch-holder guy for the party :) )

As you get closer, there is nothing that changes, though you do note that the statue looks the same as the figure on the amulet you found earlier.
